RC planes...thats good memories

I'll never forget my first plane. Got a Sig Cavalier and turned it into a 4 channel plane. It was a .40 size and my buddy had a spare .60 motor...so we doubled the size of the ailerons (wings were scratch built from plans as my attempt at straight wings resulted in a VERY warped wing), and the other control surfaces. I had a nice KO Propo radio that allowed my new plane to fly tame or radical.

I also remember the day I turned that thing into a pile of toothpicks. Glad I switched out the aluminum engine mounts for a 'glass one. the motor and electronics survived but NOTHING on the plane was salvageable.

Then I switched to cars. then GAS cars ARGH ARGH ARGH ARGH...imagine a radio controlled car that does 50mph AND will cover 20 feet of ground IN THE AIR! Man those things are more fun than a grown man should be allowed to have.

Bama,
You and I are in the same boat...I am not sure what my "new addiction" will be but I sure plan to have more energy for hunting and fishing. One thing I can tell you is that it will NOT be more work.

amen to that. I'm actually looking forward to huffing bambi's grandpa and a couple of his aunts out of the woods this year. Bonus gets paid out at the end of the month and i'm on a round trip flight to Cabelas in WV to pick up a new rifle (unless I can get a mom and pop shop to match the price locally).

Getting a Marlin XS7 in .308

made another batch of cured dried alternative cloven mammal this weekend. man is that stuff easy to digest. super high protein, low low low fat, and mmmmnnndamn is it tasty stuff.

.308 is an awsome caliber. I have my eye on a Remington 700 7mm-08. Also, get to buy some new hunting clothes this fall. Awsome!

My mom had WLS in may 2004 and she has become addicted to, but denies, hard candy, taffy and beer. That is right--all three great things to be addicted to. She eats more candy than I have ever thought possible. She SAYS she drinks about two beers every night BUT we believe it is more like 5 or 6 EVERY SINGLE day. She aslo drinks coke. She goes out to eat probably ten times a week but doesnt really eat. She just orders food and a drink....typically BEER or a bloody mary. She was never a drinker before.

She aquired Wernikes after her surgery from a vitamin B deficiency and has brain damage because of it. So her judgment is affected and I think this is why she choices to make such bad decisions with her nutrition.

My biggest transfer addiction is taking my wife out on dates. I was way to embarrassed prior to losing 80 pounds. I have a great confidence boost. The other is exercise and driving the long way home with windows down blaring music.

Its a selfish pleasure, thanks for relating. I would like to have a few real subs and some nice mids and highs too, but stock is pretty darn good.

Stacie this is an all too common thing that's just now coming out in the info after surgery. Everyone who goes into surgery should be familiar with this complication. Yes, it's a complication postop.

Your mom's story just goes to show that even if someone wasn't a drinker PRE-OP, they can still fall into this problem POST-OP. It's sad really, how many people struggle with this.

If you want to know more, to prepare yourself, see this thread (if you haven't already):

I have replaced my food addiction with exercise. It has only happened in the last week or so. I've had a few issues with my surgery and have just started really feeling good. I feel AWESOME now! I have been working out, riding my bike, or walking/running every day for the last 7 days and it feels amazing!
