Default Gloom, Despair, and Agony on Me

I'm posting this in Men's Issues, because I thought the Men would understand this...

I just went to turn in my leased Honda Element that I've had for four years. Out of all the cars I've driven, it was my favorite, hands down, even better than the Jeep.

We're not buying a new car until the summer, and I'm just depressed about it. I've hauled all kinds of crap in it, filled it with hay one October, threw the dogs in, mud and all often; I even slept in the back seat a couple of times.

It had an MP3 jack so I could plug my iPod directly into it. I'm really going to miss that.

It was like driving around my own man cave--there was a lot of room in that sucker. It was the most impractical car to have with the baby, but I really enjoyed it nonetheless.

I had her cleaned one last time so she'd be pretty for the next occupant. I left her alone, deplated, in the Honda lot, next to a nice looking CR-V. She looked sad and forlorn.

*sigh*

-Mike

here's a tissue Mike.

I have a Honda Pilot and I would cry if I was giving her back. She even has a name...Veronica...named after I saw Transformers, the movie.

It is ok to cry~

Hey Mike, I know exactly what you feel; I had to give up my 4 door F-150 in May because of the gas. I never hauled anything and nobody ever rode with me so it was really not something I needed but I loved that truck. Being able to ride up high and look down on everyone, made me feel powerful and I just loved my MP3, 8 CD changer and Sirius Radio. I can’t say the pain has gone away but I can’t wait until they come up with a Hybrid so I can get another truck back.

***Sigh*** I am turning my Audi in March 1, and do not know what I am going to do. "Flipper" (named after the famed dolphin because she is dark dolphin grey and has the satallite fin on top) is one cool chick with a fab stereo system and dual heat control and a moonroof...real sporty. I love in the frozen tundra now - not so practical. Am leaning toward ... well .... just don't know. A real conundrum. I feel for you my frirend - lets have a protein shake Saturday and drown our sorrows, okay?

Deep dark depression, excessive misery....

Aw man... that's pretty rough. Losing your mobile man-cave is a pretty sad thing. It's gonna be OK, though... You're gonna get through this.

Hang in there

You know, Mike, I liked you before, but the fact that you know more of the song puts you at the top of my list!

If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all--
Gloom, Despair, and Agony on me!

I used to sneak and watch Hee Haw, my parents thought it was hokey, but I loved it when I was a kid. I sing the "gossip" song to my wife often...

Thanks, buddy,

I feel your pain Mike (even more than when I read the thread titled "caught in my sack!!!"). My DW wanted to sell my mobile cave last year because we didn't need two cars as much. I'd put in a great sound system for my ipod and had sirius radio installed. Thank heavens I was able to dissuade her. There's nothing more relaxing to me than getting out of the house, putting on my music, and going to the store for a gallon of milk. It's sad I know, but you have to take what you can get. Try to spend the next few months obsessing over what your next car will be. E-mail me if you need support, I'm always here for a fellow music junkie.

My music habit is a much more serious addiction than anything related to food. I need a twelve step program...
