Wearing Pants - Over Belly or Under Belly
I'm putting this in the Men's Issues area, but it's probably an issue for both genders...
As we lose weight...what do you think the best way is to wear our pants to minimize the amount of loose belly skin hanging over? Over the belly or under the belly? I've always worn my pants over my belly but I'm starting to notice that there is a little sagging already beginning to occur. When I'm sitting around the house, I've been pushing them under the belly. I would prefer not to have this big flap of skin hanging over and really am just wondering if there are any preventative measures to help it. Biker shorts maybe, a man girdle? (Do they make those?)
Who's had experience with this, any tips or tricks?
-Mike

Hi Mike
My name is Pat from Buffalo and I saw you were online. This has nothing to do with your thread, I just wanted to ask some questions since you have the same Dr.

Under or over
Myself, I wear them both ways.
On the weekend, it's always under. Gives more support to my ever decreasing gut & overhang.
During the week, I usually wear my pants over the bellybutton.
Just looks better. Of course, I wear a 38/40 during the week, on the weekend it's a 36/38...Wierd, huh?

I always wear my pants at my belly button. I have a brother who had the same surgery and is smaller than I am. He wears his belt under his belly and has for years. He actually looks bigger because it draws so much attention to his belly. He has always done this because he was able to get by with a smaller waist size for his pants. Also... he is always pulling his pants up and frequently displays a little more coin-slot than I care to see. LOL

Oh yeah... When I work out, I wear spandex pants under my shorts and a compression shirt under a T-shirt.
Compression shirts are basically spandex T-shirts. I bought them in Wal-Mart on the clearance rack really cheap.
It's a little embarrassing, but I need to compress everything from my thighs to my neck to keep everything from jiggling. Without the spandex, things like jumping jacks are really uncomfortable when the skin gets flapping.
I don't wear the spandex for anything other than working out, though.

Always over my belly button. Even before plastics when I had lots of loose skin(and I still have plenty).
Always wear your pants right at your button.

I like the idea of wearing them at the button, but I just dont bend there... its that reason I hate to wear suit pants as well
