    hiya Hychap

looked into this about June last year but due to funding nothing was available in my area, Edinburgh Lothian trust was looking into funding for op's in Edinburgh, finally got an appointment to see the team in April this year but still no funding was agreed and they were weeding out the "most needy" at that point so they had figures, after a few appointments with dieticians, diabetes people psych people went to see the actual surgical team mid august and told they had funding in place and I would probably be getting a surgery date beginning of 2010, went back a week later to be told September 28th was my surgery date, totally floored and chuffed at the same time, after reading and hearing some horror stories was very anxious leading up to my surgery but when all was said and done my quality of life and ability to do things for myself out weighed any regrets I had by making the decision to go for this, keep in there, the waiting is worth it, and hope you get a date soon
