    Hi Vim

Thank you so much for the message you posted for me!

Denmark was fabulous!!! This was the first time we managed to get a good balance between indulging in all our favourite foods and also getting in some much needed (and wanted) walks - I even managed to start "wogging"

Still trying to catch up with everything/everyone though

I am doing great. Weight loss has settled at about 4 pounds per week as Surgeon expected. I should be in Twoterville next week. I loved you post about being happy.

Commenced intense Buda training this week. $477.00 for the E-Co;;ar training device and a pro trainer - 2 wisits. AMAZING Results. Friday he would pull a train on the leash - horrible to walk. Saturday he was walking in the heel position, hula hoop distance off the leash on my left leg. Amazing what a trainer can do! Another winning night of Poker on Sat. Quite nice - I love the game. I cannot wait to see pics of the cottage - I hope you a photo journaling it.

Be Well my friend - look forward to a yap on Skype. I will be in Salt Lake City from Wed to Sat. Hopefully we can talk them. I will take my headset.

    Best to you and Stephan

    Kathy V!
Welcome to TTF! What an exciting trip for you and your daughter! Will this be in May/June sometime?
I would recommend you look at www.tripadvisor.com for London hotels.
You will find there people's recommendations, by popularity vote and all budgets are catered for. Unfortunately, I have no recommendation directly, but if you belong to a church, you might try the American Church in London or look up the US Embassy website.
TopShop, Primark, DH Evans, Littlewoods, British Home Stores, John Lewis, Zara, Hennes&Mauritz are ones your daughter and you may fancy and just type their names into Google and hey presto!
London is very spread out so there is no regular group meeting here but if you post a request for a get together (if I understood you correctly) on Thinner Times' Forum's UK section, I'm sure you'll get the response you are looking for.

You will get a chance of seeing the countryside when visiting Darwen and 2-3 days sounds plenty!

There is another great site: www.whatsonwhen.co.uk (or .com) and www.timeout.com
A great way of seeing true London, on a budget is "www.walks.com" Fabulous!

All the above should get you well on your way - contact me if you need further advice - who knows, we might even be able to fit in coffee somewhere!
    Best wishes,
    Vim

    Hi,
my name is Kathy and I am new to TT. I am contacting you from sunny California because I plan on taking my 18 year old daughter for her graduation to London. We have done some traveling to Italy before but am completly lost when it comes to London. We are on a buget and I see many hotels but can you suggest a good location to stay in London. Some where with shops and pubs and nightlife. I am hoping for new clothes! Any suggestions? I did find one hotel neer Oxford street. I was thinking would it be ok to join the group even if I don't live there. I would love to get to know the English better. My daughter Lauren already has many friends in Darwen England which we plan on stay 2 or 3 days at the most because I understand there is not much to do there.
Thanks for an ideas you can come up with.

    Thanks Bridget!
    Happy packing!
My packing advice: always keep a special box for "Essentials": screwdriver, bottle opener, cell phone charger, band aid, snacks, toilet paper, toothpaste and brush, phone book... Spare car keys..., notepad and pens!
Looking forward to Skyping with you!
Happy Moving and best wishes in your new home!

Thank you, I feel so much better, the loss of 52 pounds has really helped my knees. I need to have ankle surgery in the next couple of months so I am trying hard to lose all the weight I can before then. I can not use cruches because of an injury to my right elbow so the less weight the faster I will heal. I love your pictures so much. Take care and talk to you soon. Bernadette

I have reached a different understanding in how we do or fail to cope with the mental replacement of our previous junk eating. Thank you Mike Fisher (Fisher1000) and Jacki (Splendifor) for your comments in my earlier threads - you have paved a clearer path for me!

Learning to reapply our mental frustration from not "being able" to junk eat is something we all agree on. But wherein the struggle lies, I believe is akin to starting retirement. When you have worked your butt...

    Exactly 4 months out today.
I have lost 42% of my wls journey so far.
I am SO very happy at the improved me, at being FREE, feeling younger, lighter and just grateful to be ALIVE...

You know that feeling you get at times, such as "falling in love", finding the "dream" house, that "great" job...? You just know it when you see it. But know what exactly? Well, you "know" that the glove fits, that everything...

    Thinking in First Person…

I really feel guilty! I have been indulging in myself these last 9 months. The duration of a pregnancy. The outcome has been the birth of ME!

    I, I, I, me, me, me!

It’s all about what I think, how I look, how I feel, what I am doing, what I will be doing, my involvement in any given situation. From having stood at the back of most photographs, here I am at the front, taking full centre view! I feel good, I feel strong, I...

Take a peach. Sun ripened, room temperature and just ripe, not overly ripe… Have you ever felt your lips reaching the velvety skin of a peach, them pursing as you sink your teeth into the flesh? Have you ever peeled off the velvety, dry, soft skin on top with your teeth, and felt your teeth meet the flesh of the fruit? Your tongue coming to the aid to catch the sweet aromatic juices as your teeth sink into the firm, soft flesh? You take a first bite, your mouth bursts with flavour, sweetness,...

A fun thread came on yesterday, with a table of the equivalent of your loss by a different measure

According to it, I have lost the equivalent of an elephant's heart, have still a 5000 BTU air conditioner to lose until I reach my goal of a 2 month old horse.

However, as I feel stronger and different about my weight loss surgery than I do compared with any other dieting I have ever done, I know that my RNY will work! I am DETERMINED for it to WORK! I SHALL SUCCEED!...
