Good luck! i hear ya about bein at work, i am at work as well.... i just got off the phone with the Bariatric coordinator at the hospital i go tomorrow after my apt with the doc to register for surgery and get the blook work done so everything will be set when i go in Next Friday! I am *SO* excited!!

Hey!! Wake up over there!!

i called up and scheduled it today and they originally told me it would be in Sept cuz they were booked till then. i told them it absolutely HAS to be this month and to make it happen. about 10 mins after that convo they call me back and say you're lucky... you are scheduled for the 22nd!! i am still in shock!! this will totally change everything for me - i am so excited i can barely stand it... i have a permanent smile on my face.

Well, thank you. I have had to grow up pretty fast unfortunately. Insurance is horrible but if you keep pushing you will succeed. Once I got approved it was only about two months until my surgery! So get approved and it goes extremely fast! YAY! No problem, I really thing Dr. Machado is the best choice, granted I don't know your other doctor, but I really like her. haha. And I believe there is already a group in place from what I hear. I am waiting to get advice on where and when they are, but once i heard I will definitely let you know!!! I will definitely be an active member on here, I love this whole idea. It really makes me not feel so alone in doing this. Stay in touch with your progress...I really hope you can get approved soon!

Well for starters, Dr. Machado is amazing. She has a tough love personality, but I honestly believe because of that we will all succeed. She genuienly cares about all her patients, but at the same times makes sure they stay on track if they are slipping. I understand about not wanting the process to be prolonged anymore. I am probably not the best person to go off of how long it took because I had to battle with insurance for almost a year before they let me enter even the 6 month program because of my age. I started all of this in november/december 2006. But regardless of how long it may seem to take to get in it is all going to be worth it. Just make sure to stay on top of insurance because they will try and make you fail at it, at least blueshield did for me. Dr. Machado just required the normal ekg, chest x-ray and blood work and also to meet with her personal nutritionist Sandi who is very nice. I am 5'5 and weighed 248 on the day of my surgery, but i go back thursday and hopefully that number will have gone down! Im pretty new at all this but feel free to ask me anything and I will do my best to help you! Good Luck on your process, hang it there it will all eventually come together!
