After the devastating news that my surgery date was being pushed back to October 30th from October 9th, the dietician at my clinic sent me an e-mail with a calorie restricted diet. The diet is basically protein drinks and low carb Lean Cuisines or Smart Ones. I began this diet on Saturday, September 29th the day after I found out that my begging and pleading letter was not enough to convince my surgeon to let me keep my October 9th date.

Well... today was my pre-op education class. The day started out with the requisite weigh in. Over the last two weeks, I have been throwing a little bit of a "food funeral" for myself to say goodbye to my old friend, junk food. Well turns out my idea of saying goodbye to the crap that got me where I am in the first place was not a very good idea. I have gained 14 pounds since my meeting with the surgeon a month ago. This prompted him to postpone my surgery.

One of the other newer members (hey MaggieEarth!) asked me some questions regarding the process that I have had to go through so far. After typing the message to her, I realized it may be a good thing to blog. Basically, it just covers the process that I have gone through to get to where I am now (which is patiently waiting for October 9th to get here...)
