Hi! Nice to hear from you! The whole process to get approved can be a long one but you are off to a good start!! I work with 2 people that had the bypass and 2 people that had the banding so that really helped me. I also talked to the doctor and he agreed with the lap banding procedure because "I didnt need to really lose too much" (God I love that man!) lap banding is a slower weight lose and you dont lose as much as the bypass - I just felt it was more natural and easier on your body. I cant really tell you what I think of it so far - Im still trying to heal up and start walking on the treadmill again! Having abdominal incisions is the pits! Takes awhile to feel like you can use those muscles again. Prior to surgery I joined the YMCA and walked and did weights and pushed protein. Gotta stop those carbs and push the water!! Glad you contacted me - ask ANYTHING your heart desires!! Im there for you!! Ruthe

Hi, welcome to TT! This website and people here are the greates help. WLS is not easy physically and emotionaly. It really helps to be able to talk to people who know what you are going through.
I keep my monthly updates through the signature in my profile. I never got hooked up with the traker. But I am sure if you search the internet there are tons of trackers and instructions are there as well.
    Good luck!

I started this process in February with an informational seminar. I have two nutritional seminars under my belt and have had most of my testing done. Had my psychiatric evaluation yesterday - interesting. Am scheduled for cardiac evaluation, pulmonary evaluation, and scope in June. I am hoping to have a lap-band procedure, but wanted to get feedback on pros and cons of lap-band vs. bypass. I haven't really lost any weight and want encouragement in this process. If you are out there and are in a similar place in the process, lets talk.
