We typically stay at Incline Village and ski at Mount Rose, Alpine Meadows, Northstar. Usually one day, we make a trip over to Truckee just to see the country, brouse the shops, etc.

So you will be up by Truckee? They were below freezing I think, overnight. I used to live on the west side of Reno but now I am in Yerington, which is about 77 miles SE of Reno. I go to Reno several times a month and moved away last Fall and now I am regreting it. I lived in Vegas for a couple of yrs in the late 80's, when my now ex-husband was stationed there in the Air Force. My daughter just moved down to there and is living with my aunt until she finds a place to live. I just couldn't live there today. It is nuts! I am not sure I could deal with the heat again either. I have a friend who just moved from Boulder City to Pahrump and I would like to see Pahrump. I am thinking of going in Dec. When we left Vegas we moved to Laverne, OK. I used to be the newspaper reporter in a nearby town called Buffalo. These towns are in the county just outside of the panhandle. I lived there and just across the state line into Kansas for 17 yrs. The only thing that I don't miss is the wind!

you are correct, we have a little wind today, but no rain and does not look like we will get any from the Hurricane, forecast for the next few days are mid to upper 90's. I have been doing yard work for the past two days, trying to get things trimmed and mowed just in case we start getting rain, but it appears that it will only be hot and dry for most of the next week.

We were actually in Las Vegas last week, Wednesday thru Saturday, it was certainly hot there, usually 104 to 108 when we were out and about, but because it is so dry, the heat there does not seem as bad as the heat here in San Antonio.

Hope you had a good Labor Day and enjoy the cool weather. Hopefully we will be making a trip to North Lake Tahoe in March for some skiing. I will have to go out and purchase all new ski clothing prior to the trip, nothing I have now will fit any more and I figure I have the opportunity to drop another 15 - 20 lbs before going skiing, so it will be an interesting ski season.

Are you anywhere close to North Lake Tahoe area?

Hiya Randy! I hope all is going well with you. We had a cold front pass thru overnight and it was down into the 40's here this morn. Supposed to be only 69 here today but back into the 90's starting on Wed. I'm just watching the hurricane on the TV. I haven't checked out your weather, but I take it that you are too far NW to catch any of the rain bands. Well, take care and be safe
