Oh my gosh!!! Well...I don't know if that is good or bad news??? I can tell you that at that stage the baby is still connected to the yolk sac and getting what it needs from it, mostly not you, a few weeks from now it will get all it needs from you threw the placenta. I happen to be a labor and delivery nurse. There can always be complications with this.....so weigh your decision heavily. I think what it will come down to is what you want most. If you go ahead with the surgery and keep the baby, you will still get big.....WOW....what a decision. I can understand how you feel. That is one of the reason for me wanting the lap band. You can still safely have a baby. We haven't had one since 1998 and have wanted another one ever since. I have about 80-85 pounds to loss, so I am hoping by this time next year it would be gone and I can go to the fertility doctor. I so hope that everything goes well and you make the decision that you can live with. Let me know if I can help.....always able to talk. Take care of yourself and let me know what happens. Keep your chin up!!!

Well, my doctor has been sick for the last couple of days. They called me this morning and cancelled again. So we are now scheduled for Sunday. Then after that I will have an appointment sometime next week with the surgeon. I feel the same way about the hair loss.....I would rather be bald as well. My Rabbi's wife wears a wig. I guess that way you could never have a bad hair day ;-D I hope that I can get things settle so that I can have it the beginning of next month. We have a holiday at the end of this month, so I don't think that this month is going to work out. I would like to get it done quick before my nerve goes away!!! I can't wait to have enough energy to run around the park with my kids. That is my goal and dream. Once you had your band removed did you gain alot of weight back?

So when is yours happening Heather? It's altogther such an exciting and frightful time I think. The hair loss concerns me, but I guess I've been horrific looking with being overweight so I may aswell be a baldy!!

I guess the energy will come back for you, When I first had my band I was tired, just for the first month, but then as the weight came falling off I was able to do so much more, running up escalators on the underground and dancing in nightclubs for hours, it was great, and I really miss that.

Good luck.....just a few weeks away. Sucks that you had so much trouble with your band. I actually had a friend here that had her band removed a few months ago, as she was having problems for years as well, but never lost weight. My Rabbi's wife and my step-sister had gastric bypass, both have had problems with their health as well. Kinda the same problems as yours with not being able to eat without throwing up. Hairloss and other things. My step-sister looks great, and feels better now. I think that there are plus and minuses I think with both surgerys. I am very concerned about having it. However, the gastric band is less invasive. I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun to loss weight and nothing has worked. It is to the point now that I have no energy....none what-so-ever!!! I sure hope that if I have the surgery and do loss weight that my energy level will go up. I hear of more and more that the band was the best options for people so I will cross my fingers. I to am away from "home" when all this will be taking place. I am from the US and currently living in Israel. My husband is Israeli. I do feel better knowing that a lot of people from the states come here to get procedures like that done. My appointment with my doctor is only a week away, I can't wait. Can't believe how happy and how scared you can be to take this step.

I go to my doctor on September 3rd. She will be sending me to the surgeon. Things run a little diffrent here in Israel. All weight loss procedures are covered by your ins. if your doctor sends you to the surgeon your covered. She spoke to me last month and said that she thought I should go see him , but I wanted another month to try. She said that I had had no real weight loss that she want me to go next time. So this is it. I haven't lost any weight on Xenical, at all. Basically, it could be in as little as a couple weeks after that. Scary, that it could happen so quick. My fear is that I won't be able to do my motherly stuff. I walk the boys to school everyday, back and forth...etc. Just those type of things going through my head.

Your surgery is coming up soon.........are you nervous? Which kind are you having?

    ahh thanks so much!

I'm trying...lol it's really not that difficult once you have got the hang of it. I've lost 17 kilos now. and finally fit back into a size 16 jeans.

How much do you have to lose? do you have family to support you whilst you go in?

forgive me if i don't get back asap my son is on his holidays so i have to entertain him.

    Regards.
