I'm so glad to hear that you are on the mend! I know it's been a long process for you, but I know that it will all be worth it.
I haven't had any problems with food other then it getting stuck. I can eat just about anything I've tried. The only thing I haven't tried are sweets/deserts because I'm afraid of dumping.
I've been exercising for a couple of weeks and it really does help. Even though I don't always feel up to it, it does make me feel better afterwards.
I'm glad to hear that things are going a little better for you. Did you see the doctor? I know that the fluids and protein are hard to get in, but you just have to get as much in as you can. I struggle with it every day.
As of yesterday I'm down 43 lbs! I've been feeling great and have been exercising regularly. I've been very lucky that I haven't had any complications.
Hi Lou Ann:
Well I got back home from the hospital yesterday, after 11 days. I got a wound infection so they had to open up part of my insecsion, which was real fun and I have a couple of gaping holes that have to be dressed twice a day. i wasn't able to eat or drink anything until the past couple of days, the nausea was horrible. Haven't any idea of what i might have lost yet. Very weak after being in the hospital that long, so have to concentrate on getting my energy back.
take care Pat
Just curious about how you are doing. I hope that everything is going well and that you had a wonderful Holiday.
I'm pretty much pain free now and have lost 28 lbs so far. I'm still having trouble with getting enough protein in...just can't force myself to drink the protein supplements. Plus, I always feel full, so getting all the fluids in is hard.
Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
Lou Ann
I'm so excited about our new "birthday" and can't wait for it to get here.
I, too, got most of my shopping done on "Black Friday" and now I just have wrap it and get a lot of it into the mail. I'm still in the process of decorating, but have most of it done.
I hope things are going better for you this week, and that you had a good Thanksgiving.
Hi Pat, well its day 2 and I am doing okay, I am hungery, but I am sure I will survive. The meal replacements shakes stink, so I have to hold my nose as I am drinking them and the entrees so far haven't really been that bad. I just keep telling myself its going to get better!!! Had to go back to doctor today to have some medicines changed again, the doctor completely took me off my hormones, no patch, no pills nothing. Took me off the patch for my blood pressure, told me to take my pills again until 2 days before surgery and then we will look at the patch again after that. And the if that wasn't enough, I have strep throat!!! So more meds there; He did tell me its okay to take tylenol since I have been having bad headaches, just no ibuprofen like I usually take . Well how are you doing? Are you getting nervous or scared? I am super anxious, this is all i have been thinking about. Well type at you soon! Take care!
Aw thank you....
The black one is my Shih-Tzu, she is 7 yrs old and her name is Kendyl.

Hello, The pre surgery diet is to get as much fat off our livers as possible to make the surgery a bit easier. As for the CPAP machine, I have been on one for 2 years. I cannot live without it. It took me 2 nights to get use to it and when I did I could actually stay awake all day. I think the way it made me feel made it easy to get use to. Keep trying it and don't give up on it. I believe for me it is a wonder machine. I cannot lay down without it now. I can feel my throat colapse if I do. Just don't stop trying. Also at first it also gave me dry mouth but your body ends up getting use to it as well and your mouth will eventually stay shut while you have the CPAP on. I cannot say enough good things about it. Good Luck !!!
