No, life aint over till the last part stops moving. The quintessential late bloomer is me. My parents had no money for education either. So I won an Exxon Scholarship to complete my engineering degree. Even with all that math, I still enjoy writing tho. It is relaxing for me. There is one other thng that amazes me about you. All the time since your surgery - what is it? 8 or 9 years? And you still come hang out with us? Remarkable. Glad your still here.

Phoenix - There are some amazing transformations here on TT, but you get my vote for the most remarkable. Im kind of a Profile junkie so I seem be compelled to look at everyone's. Maybe Im just nosey. What was your journalism award for?

Happy and impish is waaaaay more attractive than a "stern and bossy know-it-all" in a cute skinny girl. I know. I have to be stern and bossy a lot more often than I like.

I've given up stressing over trying to gain weight. I can make a couple of pounds headway if I really stuff myself but I can't maintain that level of eating - it makes me feel really horrible all day.

I seem to have bottomed out at 118lb. We'll see what happens in a few weeks.

You're welcome, but...how could I not? This picture looks both happy and a bit impish.

Heeeeey I had a question for your Phoenix.

I love the tattoo. I was wondering did you get it before your surgery or after? And if you got it after, how long would you suggest waiting before getting one done? I want to get three, 2 on my shoulders and 1 on my back.

Wow Phoenixfire. I took a look at some of the posts in the 4 year post op and read your story. INCREDIBLE! You are such an inspiration to us newbies to WLS! I am 6 days post op right now (probably 7 by the time you read this) and am young but I was scared that I would need to get plastic surgery to remove skin; that being 22 and working out won't be enough to make the skin fit. Then I saw your pictures and wow you are beautiful! Now I am not worried about it anymore. Your an inspiration and thank you for being here =).
