Hi LeeAnn, just returned home today and the trip was fabulous and went by way to quickly. I will post more info and photos in the next few days under the social thread and probably set up a new photo album as well. I hope you are well and doing great.

    Hello Paul!

That is great news that you are walking freely without assistance. I am sure it is a welcomed change to not have to depend on a crutch or a cane.

I am so excited that you will be in my state. Fishing opener was last weekend... My Uncle did not even go fishing because it was too cold. He said his neighbors went out for a bit on gull lake... He said they were miserably cold though. The warmer weather is supposed to start moving in now though... so hopefully by the time you get here it will be nice!
I cannot wait to hear about your trip!
I look forward to traveling more when I shed some more of this weight!

    Take care!

Hello LeeAnn, thanks for asking about my leg. For the past several weeks now I am walking freely without any assistance. I have posted an update under the Social Section with some photos of my recent nature walk and an afternoon at the beach.
Getting ready for leaving to the USA next Tuesday morning and first destination is MINNESOTA for 8 days, we are hoping that it warms a bit more up north, but even if it stays cool we will enjoy the time there.

Hope you are doing well and thanks again sweetie.

    Hugs
    Paul

Thanks LeAnn, I love Northern MN., it was the opposite of living in the Portland Oregon area, but I love both places and it is an internal need I have to get there at least once a year. Now that I am so far living here in Italy, I have to say that Winter in MN is not my favorite season, a little long and dark for my chemistry makeup. But never the less there is the beauty about the snow and ice on the lakes. I have always been fascinated at the guys who are brave enough to drive out on the lakes with trucks and cars for ice fishing.
I have decided to go with my instints about the hip and let go of the crutches as I am able, I am definately only using one now and sometimes none. But slowly I will get there. We have also found physical therapy through a private resource and also pool therapy in a nearby city that begin tomorrow. So I am happy to continue with professional assistance in my rehab.
I will keep everyone posted about the visit to the USA(MN and OR).

LeAnn you have a wonderful day and will chat again soon.

    Hugs
    Paul

    Paul...

I cannot get over the fact that you are from that area! You enjoy your trip back there! I bet all your friends and family will be shocked at the change in you. I just read your post about your worries about your hip. I really think it is all going to work out for you. I agree with Mike and what the others wrote about giving yourself time to adjust from no crutches. I can understand your excitement to be free of them though!
Take care and make sure you update us on how your trip was!
    Hugs... LeaAnn

Ciao LuLu, me too I love Northern Minnesota, I grew up about 120 miles north of Bemidji in Lake of the Woods County when I was 1 yr old until I was 8 yrs old, then we moved back to Oregon where I was born and lived my first year of life, then lived in Thief River Falls in 1978 and Graduated from High School in Crookston, MN in 1980. I go up and see my Dad who is now in Bemidji for the past 5 years and other relatives who still live in Williams up in Lake of the Woods County, which is like another world for me, calm, peaceful, natural, a place that gives me a sense of my childhood freedom and I get to see some friends I had from kindergarden through second grade who I have maintained contact with all these years. This year they will get to see the new Paul, it will be something wonderful for me and them.
Hope that you are doing well LuLu, thanks for the message.
    Abbracci per te(hugs for you)
    Paul
