I hope for your sake that you will have someone around all through your recovery period. I can't imagine what I would do without my sweetie! If it helps any I do have unlimited free long distance and we can chat and complain to each other over the phone post op. =) Just let me know if you want to do that and we'll exchange phone numbers by private message. I will warn you though I'm not the best marathon phone talker (I make an effort but my BFF can out do me by hours!).
LOL you crack me up! I sure could use some advice on training my hubby... he is SO training resistant. Sometimes I think he's playing a dirty trick on me, screwing things up so I'll just do it myself. He's a great guy overall though, don't get me wrong. He's working while I go to school full time and is still willing to do a few things around the house which is more than most people would do with an unemployed spouse. Also, he's a great nurse. This will be the 6th surgery I've had in three years (5 if you don't count oral surgery) and he's been a real gem taking care of me post-op even though I'm a crabby b*tch.
I can't believe it's happening either, very surreal feeling right now! My preop stuff is on 7/3 and I'm moving this week into a bigger apartment because my hubby got a promotion and will probably be working at home soon (so he needs some dedicated office space). Have you got all your home affairs in order in prep for surgery? It's just driving me nuts that I have all this to get squared away before I go under. The thought of anything still being in boxes then just makes me crazy! I love my husband dearly, but he's just not a whiz at putting things away in what I consider to be the logical places. Also, if I don't want my red things washed with whites I have to get laundry all done as well LOL
I'm guessing I'm not alone with the overwhelming feeling to 'prepare' everything. I keep thinking if I can 'control' my life I can control my fears (but it's not working too well honestly). The reality is: not matter how hard I try to be prepared I can't possibly be 'ready' for these changes that are coming... but that's where TT buddies come in eh?
