Well, thank you! Now I don't feel so bad. I just remember a few weeks ago I could only eat like 1 oz of chicken...maybe chicken in just more filling than sausage insides...
3oz isn't bad, and remember, that's the weight of the food. Once it's chewed, it's volume is much smaller. And please, don't worry so much about stretching your pouch. Early out it takes quite a bit of abuse to stretch it permanently. Just continue to concentrate on eating smaller portions more often during the day, and as much protein rich food as you can. It will all work itself out and you will lose the weight.
I am almost 2 months out, and I just ate a WHOLE 3oz Artichoke and Garlic chicken/turkey sausage! A WHOLE ONE! I am deathly afraid I have stretched my pouch! I didn't eat the casing though. I ate it from the inside-out.
Hey Laura, sorry to get back so late. Really feel or you, you've certainly been getting hit with one bad thing after another. I've had to put two dogs down and I know how horrible the feeling is. Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and really hope better days are ahead. Hang in there.
I think for the first couple of months, I used a 1/4 measuring cup or 4oz of weight. Then I moved it to about 5-6 oz at 6 months, and now I eat around 7-8 oz or 1 cup. Right now, I'd recommend you try to stick with 4oz. It may not sound like much, but remember, you should be eating 5-6 times a day at that much.
