Eric, I also wanted to say to you that you need to do what is right for you. You have to make the decision. I know i was on the fast track to a heart attack, and thought I was gonna die last hunting season. that was my "ah ha" moment that made me go thru with the surgery. I do know this...it's alot easier to get to 220 from 290 by diet and exercise alone than it is from 390 BUT, it's also alot easier to become 390 without a good diet.
The surgery will force the diet and lifestyle change on you if you can't do it alone. I could not do it alone and the surgery truly has changed, and probably saved, my life. My kids will thank me someday

yes! I left USAir about 4 years ago and am working as a marketing manager as a small company about a mile from home. I got divorced so I'm raising my daughter (14) and son (16) solo. One of my concerns is being able to be self sufficient after surgery. My kids I'm sure will be able to help out alot.
