We'll I had a wonderful chat with my boss today. It still feels weird to have these talks with him but it must be done. He has had some time to let this settle in and he looked on-line about it over the weekend and he said he will support my decision. I did explain to him the health benefits, that is my final goal thru this whole process. I also mentioned that part of my job I am involved in a non-profit organization where we lecture and lead walking programs for seniors with the focus on health and wellness. Hello, I am not the picture of health and wellness and I explained to him that I feel like a fraud! Anyway, it ended well and i told him that it was uncomfortable for me to have these conversations and i also understand where he is coming from. he is "old school" and this just seemed BIZARRE to him. Now i can only look forward, no more worries. I am thrilled fro you in your successes, do you have any special celebration plans for the one year anniversary?

Wow, your boss is just refusing to make this easy on both of you. I mean, that's incredibly generous to offer you a personal trainer, but still he needs to stop blurring that personal/work boundary. Again, great job on standing your ground. Does he have a legitimate work reason for asking you to postpone? If not, he needs to SHUT UP! LOL!

Thanks for the nice comments My surgery was just over 11 months ago, September 24, 2007. I'm coming up on my one year anniversary! I have changed SO fast, it is like a dream. I'm still in no way used to the "new me". And you are so close to your big day, too! If you can, keep us updated on how it is all going. I'd love to hear how you are

Thanks for the comments on my blog. I was hoping the discussion would be brief and then done. So far fopr the last 3 days he has been pressuring me to post pone the surgery for 6 months so we can take care of this. he has even offered to pay for me to use his exclusive personal trainer, I told him i will use the trainer after my surgery. i am secure in my decision and nobody will stand in my way. I just hope it doesn't get wierd and then I have to turn into a bitch about his. You look amazing, how long ago was your surgery? Mine is 5 weeks from today and can't wait.
