Have you gone to a seminar yet? If not, I would definitely do so. I have 2 things left before getting insurance approval. A pulmanary screening and Cardiac Stress Test? I believe that is what they are called. But I can't wait!

Hi I'm Kari I guess you are in VA as well. I am at Weight Loss Surgery Center of Hampton Roads. If you are worried about a scar they do it laproscopic. How are you coming along with your process?

That's where I was, at Chesapeake General up on 5th floor, Thier Bariatric unit. I was nervous too but more excited than anything, I have been wanting this surgery and have been doing research on it for years and finally got determined enough to go and start everything last March. Congrats on your approval. If I were you I would definitely get started on your pre-quals. I didn't have to have a supervised diet. I did have to get my Pulmonary, Cardio & Psych Clearance and also went to one Nut apt there at the building right next to the hospital and I had a couple of Labs done, that was it. I didn't have to have any ultrasounds or anything else. I consider myself quite lucky that TRICARE approved me and was also lucky enough to get surgery 2 weeks after approval for them! You will go thru some pain, they don't call it hell week for nothing. I experienced it, i was sore but I tell you that i would do it over and over if I had to. I have already lost 25lbs since having the surgery on the 22nd. I go back to see the doc on the 16th for my 3 week post op. I can't wait to go back to work!!

Dr. Yancey is an AWESOME Doctor and definitely knows what he is doing. The scar is MICRO and is just like he said, a little bit longer than a buisness card. I had my surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow and it is healing very nicely! The nurses up on 5th floor where you will start your recovery are VERY nice. Gloria & Jeanine and all of the others were awesome to me. I would definitely do it all over again and am glad i did the OPEN instead of the LAP. That way he was able to check my gallbladder to make sure it was ok, and indeed it was. If you have any other questions I will be more than happy to answer them Dr. Yancey is the doc to go to around here! Oh... He did my mother 2 years ago and my scar is way smaller than hers and I am sure it will be hard to tell it is there once it is all healed up!
