Hi, I was reading a post I saw you reply to about running 1/2 marathons post-op. I'm currently training for a 1/2 marathon scheduled for January. As our distance runs get longer, I find myself hitting a wall around 5 miles. We had a seminar where a nutritionist was telling us to eat carbs 1-2 hour before a run. I asked her how I could do that after WLS and she said I should eat the same as everyone else before a long run. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to share your experience with me. What worked for you pre-run, during the run and after the run to keep your body fueled. The thought of all those carbs really scares me, lol. I am doing this as a challenge for myself but my main goal is still to lose weight (im only 6 mos post-op). Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Hey in case you didn't see my reply post, I wanted to make sure you knew about something to help you with your patches. Here's my reply:

I had some issues with sticking, with both the Sandoz AND Mylan brands. I used medical tape for awhile, but it left this yucky sticky coating on my skin. Yuk.

Then I found bioclusive dressings at the pharmacy. There are a couple companies that make them, and you can even buy them online. I PUT THE WEB ADDRESS ON THE THREAD-CAN'T GET IT IN HERE, SORRY.

Some insurance companies pay for bioclusives for use with Fentanyl, so ask your prescribing doctor to write you a script. They're safe and they really work.

You're so sweet! And thank you. We've been judged enough already. Success is what I'm after - that, and happy people.

    Happy 4th.
