3 months ago last week I had surgery. To date I have lost 46.5 pounds. You would think I would be excited. I am, really. But at the same time a bit disappointed lately. I have not lost anything in 3 weeks. I keep going back over this time, trying to figure out what is going on. The last week I lost weight it was 11 pounds in one week. Logically I know this is a lot of weight for one week, and expected a slower week to follow but 3 weeks now?? I saw my doc last week for my 3 month check up and he...

When I stepped on the scale Tuesday for my weekly weigh-in and I was a bit disappointed to have lost just 1 pound. Since then I have fought the urge to step on the scale again to double check it every time I am in the bathroom. It has been a hard thing not to do. I know logically I should not be disappointed with just one week’s weight loss when I have lost 30 pounds (according to my scale) in the last 8 weeks. But it is hard not to. Some days I find myself forcing myself to eat 3 meals a day. Drinking...

Last week was my 6 week post op appointment. 31 pounds since the day before Thanksgiving! (I guess my scale is 4 pounds off from the docs so I am happy!)
My challenge continues to be exercise. My foot burst when I walk more than a few minutes and along with that comes pain up my leg and hip. I have to push through it though. I have to keep reminding myself it’s not just the fact that it is helping make me healthier and lose weight. I want to avoid another surgery this year if at...

Well I made it through Christmas and New Year’s. It has been a crazy few weeks to say the least. I was proud of myself for making it through what is often a “food fest”. I guess it really helps that we don’t live close to all the family. (It sucks not being able to get together with them all and see everyone but I am afraid I would have had more problems with food.) This is the third Christmas since we moved away form ‘home’ and while I like being away from them all on...
