Isn't she adorable? Her name is Jezebel (we call her Jezzie). She's a sealpoint Balinese. I'm glad I'm not allergic. I love critters too much. She is just the sweetest little thing. I lost my best friend, my dog Chloe, two weeks ago. She was diabetic, blind and deaf. She fell and hurt herself and we decided it was time to let her go. Jezzie has helped to fill the void I felt after Chloe's passing. I also have two birds and another dog.
OMG! I drive through there all the time. We recently bought some land between Canandaigua and Keuka lakes (in Potter). We take 21 and some back roads to get down there. It's a cute little town. We want to build a house down there eventually. Our property is atop a hill and we have an awesome view. We went down there last Wednesday. I went to Penn Yan to get a new kitten.
Sounds like your doc is a gem and knows the drill. My doc was pretty good too. I hear some horror stories from others about their doctors. I got the idea to do this from a good friend of mine. When she told me 2 years ago she was going to do it, I thought she was crazy. Now look who's crazy! So where abouts do you live? I live in Webster.
I started this in February. It was 2 months from when I called that I was able to get into a seminar. Mine was 4/20. You will learn everything you need to know there. The meeting is the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Highland in the Collins Auditorium. It's on the main level (2nd floor). At this point, you can't do much until after the seminar, but you could go to the support group meeting. It's possible, however, that it might confuse you more. Most of your questions will be answered at the seminar. It wouldn't hurt to make an appointment with your PCP for shortly after the seminar. He/she will have to write a letter to Dr. O'Malley stating his/her approval for surgery. You will need to have documented proof of weight loss efforts for the past 5 or so years. I put together a letter explaining my history and successes and failures for weight loss. It helps if your PCP has documentation or if you at least have estimated dates (in years) of where and when. Plan on at least six months after your seminar (maybe longer depending on which type of surgery you're having and insurance requirements) before you'll have surgery. Dr. Boss is supposed to be back in January, so you could still go with him. How much do you want to lose?
Yes. Doc Boss is out until after the first of the year. I'm going with O'Malley too. I can get it done a lot sooner and don't have to do the 1 week pre-op liquid diet.
There's a support meeting on the 12th @ 6:30. I'm planning on going. How about you?
Hmmmm, they never told me that Doc Boss is on disability. He's supposed to be my surgeon. It's strange, though, Dr. O'Malley did the seminar I went to for him. I guess I should call and find out what's going on.
