It's not the insurance that is slow. It's the whole hoop jumping and waiting for the surgeon's office that holds things up. They don't submit to the insurance until after you meet with Dr. O. I had my seminar in April, so expect 6 to 7 months before you can get into surgery. It's worth the wait and the time really just flew by.
Thanks. It was no big deal...just another day. I did celebrate it well, though. We went to a B&B for a couple of nights in Penn Yan and did the Finger Lakes wine trails. Ate, drank and were merry. My last splurge. We also spent a day at our land. It was warm and beautiful and we drank some of the beer and wine we bought. I won't be doing anything like that for a while. Hope all is well with you.
Thanks for stopping by. I've been wondering where you've been. Glad you've started the process. I hope it won't take as long for you. You should try to make the support group meetings. They'll give you the info at the seminar. I won't be able to make November's but will try to make December's. I told my husband to email all my buddies after my surgery, so I added your email to my list. I hope all is well.
Hi Nickey,
I just noticed you left me a message.
I live in Canton-it's by Potsdam if you know where that is.
How about you ?
Talk to you soon,
Chrissie
When is your seminar? I can't wait to find out when I'm going to have this done. I'm getting tired of waiting. Also, I started a new med and am losing weight. I don't want to lose too much or I'll be disqualified. I've been borderline right along. But I'm almost 53 and have been overweight for at least 30 years. I've had enough and want to lose 100 pounds.
Hi Nickey, I'm doing well, how about yourself? Did I tell you I got my appointment with the doc (finally)? I'm meeting him on 9/18. They told me it would be another 6 to 8 weeks after that before I can have the surgery. I'm getting very impatient. Another woman I met on this board (LizzieShell) who is having her surgery around the same time told me that at the next support meeting, a plastic surgeon who is new and working with the bariatric group is going to be speaking. I'm going. It's next Tuesday at 6:30 pm at Highland. I'm really interested because I know I'll at least need the tummy and boobs done after the surgery. I hope you can make it too.
I'm still mourning my Chloe too, but I find that Jezzie cheers me up. The whole family adores her. She is so tiny, but has a great personality. She actually comes when you call her. I've read that her breed acts more like a dog than a cat. We shall see.
I'm sorry to hear about your dogs. Man, three in one year, that's really tough.
