My friend lives in Hopewell Junction, if you lived closer (I think you are about 4 hours away, not sure though) I could bring it with me tomorrow. I have noticed that with Grey's period, they are strange creatures....any changes to their cages and they get really upset. I moved the Grey that I'm babysitting into a bigger & better cage (the one that he came in was horrible and I didn't want it in my house) and he got upset and wouldn't poop in his cage. He would hang on the side of the cage and let it go there....what a HUGE mess. It took him about a week to figure out that he could poop in his cage and he would be just fine. LOL

I won't let nor have my picture taken either, you aren't alone there. However, I did take a picture of me and my hubby the other day, just goofing around. I thought about using it as my avatar.....but I hate the way I look.

My name is Vicki. About our grey, I think I know what might have set her off. She plays this game with me whenever I try to feed her. She stands on her bowl and tries to nip me (she doesn't do this to anyone else). The day she started plucking again I had gotten fed up with the nipping and switched her water bowl and her food bowl. She looked at me kind of funny and then I forgot about it. I think it might have stressed her out or something. When my husband picked her up to play with, I noticed her beautiful tail was gone, and some of her belly was bare! I had used this stuff called 'pluck no more' in the past and it helped. Barb from the rescue told me it was dangerous to use, but it didn't seem to bother the bird. I would like to check that stuff out. Send me a link.

If you've never been to the Finger Lakes area, you should definitely visit sometime in the summer. Get out of the heat and away from those fires! We stayed on Keuka lake two years ago and fell in love with the area. For the past year we looked for land and finally bought 25 acres up on a hill with a fabulous view.

By the way, this picture was taken a couple of years ago before I quit smoking. I'm about 50 pounds heavier now and won't get in front of the camera.

Just curious where you flew to NY to. I'm in the Rochester area and am wondering if you came to our local rescue. I have a Congo African Grey and a cockatiel. I didn't get either of them from a rescue, but we adopted the grey to avoid having her sent to one. She is a real character. So how many birds do you have (I see the pic of the 'too)? I'm so sorry about you being denied. Keep trying. I'm just starting on this journey.

Also, I re-home birds as well. So, if you want another bird....please let me know. I have 8 birds currently, that are mine. Yes, that is "my" baby in the picture...his name is Kasper. I flew to NY to get him from my friend that rescued him. I can put him in our pool on a boogie board.....isn't that a hoot!

Is that your baby in your picture? What is your birdy's name?? I used to have a quaker, but had to give him up to a cousin when I moved. Can't wait to get another bird when I move into my condo (assuming my offer gets accepted!)! I added you to my friends so I know where to find you when it's diving time! :-)
