I think they need to get their protocol in order. I find it disrespectful to let someone wait for that long without explaining why. Anyway, I had to see an actual Psych. SS gave me a list of psychs they suggest I see and I chose from that. I wish I could have taken the test in the office. That would have saved time and money.

By the way....How are things going? I had my pre-op at Southern Surgical yesterday. I waited over an hour to be seen. They said they were waiting on my orders - which I had in my hand the whole time (you know, Golden ticket that Surgical Specialists refer to). The nurse was apologetic about the front desk mishap and they made sure I was taken care of fast.

I'm waiting to hear from the surgeon's office this week with a date. I'll be sure to shout it out when I know.

Hi, i'm so excited I am approved. Since i'm going to the same hospital do you have any suggestions on what to bring with me? How long did they keep you after the surgery?

Hey, I just got a quote back from Southern. $2,080 will be my portion. I hope that dollar amount doesn't change too much.

I emailed Beth at Why Weight this morning and expressed my frustration with Southern Surgical. She cc'd me and sent them an email explaining my insurance and asked that they contact me with an estimate as soon as possible. She then emailed me seperatly and said if they don't get back with me she will take it up with a supervisor. Cool Beans!

Now back to the benefits coordinator....She is not a union member so I think she may have different coverage amounts than we do. Also, she revealed that another member's wife is having dificulty getting approved. That doesn't make me confident. I really need and want this surgery!
How is your mom & cousins doing and how are you? I really appreciate finding you on here. All my family lives in Oregon. I just have my hubby's family and we don't seem to click too well. They see a Liberal Yankee Gal that came and stole their baby boy. They have the yankee right but that's it!

I have insurance through my husband. He is a Union Plumber so the insurance is called a welfare fund. It's administered by PHCS but the Union hall has the final say if PHCS denies my claim right off the bat. My coverage is 80/20. I have already met the $300 deductible for the year. I spoke with the benefits administrator at the hall and she just so happend to have GBP back in Aug 08. She told me that she had to pay over $2K to the surgeon, $3k to the hospital and then the hospital just sent her another bill for $4K. That has me all freaked out. I can't afford $9k the way the economy is. Then I spoke with Beth at Why Weight and she said it's apporx $770 for the surgeon but couldn't give me an estimate on the hospital. I've spoke with Southern Surgical many times and they won't reveal a price.

Is that 35,000 or 3,500? I can't tell. My insurance will cover 80% of the bill after they deduct for the provider discount. I looked at the stats of the doctors at Why Weight and Dr. Warden looked like he had a good record. Your the 2nd peson I spoke with that had Lavin. I think i will ask to switch.

Hello, I am going through the same clinic (Dr. Warden) and the same hosptial. How was your experience with them? No one will give me an answer on how much the hospital will charge for the surgery and it's frustrating. I would love to pick your brain about it all
