hello Tibamibi! That is very cool that you have Dr. Selwyn too! I have been really bad at not attending the support groups. Just seems like every time there is one something comes up or I don't feel good enough to attend. I almost wish they would have them twice a month so if you didn't make one you could make the other. I digress.

I think that with Dr. Selwyn and the great support system he has in place (nutritionist, psychologist, support groups) here in Point, that you can be sure you are in excellent hands. I really hesitated to have the surgery until I heard about Dr. Selwyn and attended an information meeting. I was instantly sold. He is a great guy and all the people working for him are so warm and friendly.

So you are very close to your surgery date!! Way to go. Just be sure to follow exactly what the doc and nursing staff tell you and you should have a great experience. All the recovery from the surgery and other "stuff" that comes with it will seem like nothing as you regain a healthy life style. I'm experiencing one of those darn "stalls" right now and I hurt my back and haven't been able to exercise for a month...so I'm pretty bummed about that...but am still better off than before. You'll find that after surgery you'll have some bumps in the road and ups and downs; but you won't regret it. At least I haven't! ;0)

Hi Mumsy, I just realized that you had the same surgeon that I will be having. Lets see not real sure where I am at with this. I have met with dietician five times, had sleep study, going on Friday to have endoscopy, went to support group tonight which was Oct. 6, met surgeon, having my pre op or cardiac clearance on Oct. 15, and on Oct 21 meet with the neurologist to decide what to do with my obstructive sleep apnea. So I think I am pretty close at least I hope so. Any advice or anything I would appreciate it. It is great finding someone that had the surgery and the same surgeon.
