Hi there DogMom, nice to hear from you, I am doing better. I discovered I am not handling the protein shakes well so after my app yesterday I found out it was ok to take some lactaid meds. It is helping.
I am feeling pretty well, belly is still very swollen. Nurse said its because of the latose thing. besides she said it will just take time. but I am uncomforable sitting up to long. anyways I will keep working on it. I was happy to get to start eating,,,lol
I lost 27.5 but droppen another 2 lbs today....so I think thats pretty good. I like having the scale so I am reminded why I am doing this lol btw I had the open.
Well, the weather is wet stormy and I do feel the effects with my fibro. hadn't taken any pain meds mostly cause i am sick of pills lol
I am so hoping as the weight comes off that there will be less pain.
by the way I notice the weight loss mostly in my face and neck.
I know you haven't weighed but notice any difference?

Hello, I just wanted to say Hi and let you know I was thinking of you. I've read some of your posts and I hope you are doing ok. I had Lap RNY GB on May 26th. I've been recovering well. I don't own a scale tho and am getting curious as to how much, if any, weight I've lost so far. My 1st follow up appt with my surgeon is Fri 6/12, I don't think I can wait that long to get weighed. I'm gonna end up buying a scale I just know it! ~lol~ Take care!

Hi MssWho, My name is Dianna (DogMom), I too have Fibromyalgia. My PCP says my weight just makes things worse. And now I have weight related health problems also, hypertention, high cholesterol & OSA. My PCP told me a few months ago (which is one reason I finally agreed to have WLS) there is an urgency for significant weight loss in order to improve my health and get back to living my life again. The main reason I'm doing this surgery is to get my life back, but now that my surgery date is getting closer (5/26) I'm getting more nervous. I haven't read about all the post-op complications down the road. I know it would make me doubt this decision and worry so much more. Well, I know you won't see this message 'til after your surgery, but l just wanted you to know there are others out there with your same problems and fears. I will be looking forward to reading your posts to see how you are feeling post-op. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

So sorry to those I haven't answered, I have been not myself with this pre-op diet. and worry to be honest.
I think almost looking for reasons I shouldn't have this done....but the reasons TOO do it out weigh it.
The date is coming faster and faster..lol
Kinda like trying to talk myself out of skipping my dentist app when I have a bad toothache, just because I am worry about the shots
I am weird that way ROFL

Hi! We've replyed to some of the same posts and have had a lot of the same fears....I just wanted to find a buddy close to my date to go thru this with. My surgery date is May 20th and would love to share this with you! My email is jennilrogers79@yahoo.com I also have myspace. I'm 30 live in SC with my Husband and our 4 kids. We are Military so don't have a very big support system.
I've switched my "type " of surgery twice now...my Drs office is being very awesome they said I can switch up untill my surgery day but I have now found a kind of peace about the whole RNY. Hope to hear from you soon,

i had open rny and was just as nervous as you are about it. open rny was the only rny my surgeon did but i wanted this particular surgeon so i bit the bullet. my experience was not bad at all. i have a 7 inch incision that has healed quite well. i did not have a lot of pain after surgery at all and was off my pain meds in 5 days and back to work in 10 days (my job is sedentary). i dont regret having open rny at all. feel free to ask me whatever questions you have ( i sure harassed people before my surgery but all of my friends had lap. ) you will be just fine.
