Yes, we both had lap RnY back in 2006. I had mine in Feb. and he had his in June. He lost weight way faster than I did but I think I've lost about 30 pounds more than him. Either way, we are both really happy with our loss and with our health.

Hi! I noticed you joined the WLS Couples group...did your husband also have surgery? How is the weightloss coming along with you both?

I haven't had the pukies yet, but the foamies were bad enough. Gag me. But yeah, shrimp is one of those foods that really needs to chewed well and sometimes it's hard because it can be rubbery. I find myself spitting parts out when I think it's just not chewing well. I takes no chances.

Good for your daughter, that's one of those careers where you actually enjoy what you're doing. Who knows, maybe one day I'll see her on the Food Network!

Very proud of my sons. My wife and I were both in the Navy, so most of that pride comes from the fact that they followed in our footsteps. My oldest son has changed so much since he's been in. Just turned 22 and he owns three paid-for cars, has good money in the bank, investments, is working on a degree, and can leave the Army tomorrow and make well over 100K per year. Very mature now and he's making all the right decisions. Guess my harping finally paid off, though he won't admit that he listens to Dad.

I get the sense that when you're hormones go awry, that I'm somehow gonna feel it here in Arizona, like some dark force in the universe...lol.

Isn't this whole thing weird? I can look back when I weighed this much before and I know I didn't think or feel this way then. I am so far healthier and fit now and like I've said before, I know I'm not stopping here, so there's no reason to feel this sense of urgency or wallow in self defeat. Pretty cool feeling. And look at you, your girls are right there with you, that's gotta make you feel pretty good. I have boys, they're all like, mnnhhh..whatever. And thanks for your support as well Michelle. It's all part of my success that I have people to share this adventure with, especially later when it starts to get real. Congrats to your daughter, any idea what's she doing next?

How are your hormones so far? They can get pretty crazy at times. I seemed to be a mess from the 4th-6th month. Irritable, one minute, happy as could be the next, ready to snap one minute, ready to hug the next. I know some of it was due the testosterone injections I was taking, but I was crazy mixed up at times. My wife just wore garlic around her neck to ward me off.

55 to go, wow. You will knock this out quickly. Good for you! Feels good, doesn't it. It's like a drug to me. I used to hate exercising, now I seem to crave it, and I get upset when I am busy with other things and miss my workout. I have no idea where this new me is coming from.

Good to hear the your BF is taking notice. His pouch is probably stretched pretty good, but he can bring it back down to a reasonable limit. I know my wife felt odd sitting there eating a full meal when I just eating a chicken breast or some fish. So lately, she's really getting into this with me and has dropped 20 pounds now in the past two months.

It's hard to say a average weight loss, it will depend on a lot of factors. I continue to lose at about 4-5 pounds a week. Women lose slower, but you've done extremely well so far, so I would bet you continue to lose 3-4 pounds a week up to about the 5-6 month mark. That puts you pretty close to goal, doesn't it?

But the real question is, is the BF getting the message yet and getting back in the game?

I didn't look too pretty launching either. I have no idea where my mind went or what the heck I was thinking, but it itched, and I just couldn't take it anymore. How's the weight loss coming? You should be coming up to the dreaded stall period here shortly. It'll probably last a couple of weeks, but you will be losing inches. And if you're anything like me, everything will gravitate downward, everything...

Here's a little treadmill tip for you. When you're walking fast and hard, and your knee starts to itch, don't mindlessly take your hands off the grips, bend over, and scratch it. Or like me, you might end up on America's Funniest Home Videos.
