I guess as a Ranger, there's really not a good spot to deploy, but at least he will be with the best of the best, so that's a consolation. I have an idea where he's going and the good thing is, they don't deploy for long periods. Usually just 2-3 months, go in, do their job, get out.
Seems like most bariatric today is all effort into getting people in and operated on to generate that revenue and then slack on the support. My center has gotten increasingly worse since I was operated on. Staff's been cut, I didn't even see the surgeon on my 6 month, just his PA. He went from surgery 2 days a week, to 5 days due to the demand. Hopefully, you're working with a group who can see the end value in having better educated and supported post-op patients.
Good for you. I really hope your dream of working the bariatric side comes through. You'd be great at it.
Yes, I'm off again to San Diego on the 14th for four days. My oldest comes home on Monday for two weeks and then he's getting deployed. Not sure where yet. I see much stress in my future...

I just got a call from the hospital to pre-register me plus I've started to do all my little pre-op duties. My lab work is now drawn, next week it is my EKG, my surgery clearance appointment with my PCP and mammogram. Then the following week I have my pre-op appointment with my plastic surgeon the day before my surgery. So this is REALLY going to be happening and it sounds as if the 21st is still...
