Oops! Clicked save and wasn't done with my msg. Discuss your concerns with your Dr. Do you have a nutritionist? Maybe ask her some questions. I hope your appt went well today, let me know how it went. Don't get discouraged, maybe all you needed was an adjustment to your band. Will be thinking of you, take care!

Hi Melanie, my follow up appt 7/10 went very well. I lost another 15lbs, for a total loss of 35lbs. since surgery. I'm sorry to hear you are struggling a bit with your weight loss. My PCP wanted me to get the LapBand. But from what I heard and read about it, I decided the GB would be a better choice for me. And the statistics I got from my surgeon pre-op helped me make that choice as well. Give it time, from what I've heard the LapBand is a slower weight loss process. Are you tolerating foods ok? My surgeon and nutritionist stress #1 Protein (70g+ daily) , #2 Water (lots!) and #3 Exercise. I struggle to get in close to the 48oz, and get no where near the 64oz! Also, I am still searching for a protein drink I like. I'm supposed to have 3 protein drinks daily, but I usually only have 1.

Hi Melanie, my name is Dianna. I just had lap RNY GB on May 26th. Recovering well so far. I too am an animal lover and of course had to check out your 'babies' pictures (two & four legged ones ~lol~). SO CUTE!!! How are you doing with your band? I don't own a scale and have no idea how much, if any, weight I've lost since my surgery. I am going to buy one soon. My 1st follow up appt with my surgeon is Fri 6/12, not sure if I can wait that long tho! My husband says he can tell I'm losing but I don't see it. Well I just wanted to say hello. Have a great day! ~Dianna~

They are pictures of my nieces wedding. I did the photograpy for her. I have done both of my sisters weddings as well. I am glad that you are feeling better. I was worried about you. I am not worried about getting my badges this week. Yahtzee is hard and I didn't have time for it this week. Glad that you are feeling better. I went to my surgeon last week for my 3 month check up and he was very pleased with my weight loss and said that I should be under 200 by my 5 month mark and I am well on my way there. I weighed in this morning at 219.5 so I only have 20 lbs to go till onederland. He also said that he doesn't see any problems with me using the protein drinks as long as I want to. He said that he doesn't understand why your surgeon wants you to go off of them completely by a certain time. Hope to chat with ya soon. Keep me posted on how you are doing. I am going to post some pictures of me on here to show the weight loss from before the surgery to now. Go check them out if you want.

    Hi Melanie!
Wow, I can't believe you only waited such a short time! Are you're eating restrictions like mine? 2 weeks of liquids, then 3 weeks of pureed? I'm so tempted to go on to the next phase which is soft foods, I have a week left. Pureed stuff is nasty! Let me know how your fill goes!

    Hi Melanie!
I hope you continue to feel better. I also hope you don't have to sit in Dr. Ali's office for 2 or 3 hours waiting to see him! Please tell him that you increased your dose of Nexium, because that's way too much, and I could be wrong, but Pepto Bismal is a no no, and I can't remember why. I would have died if they even suggested taking me back into surgery! I had a big air bubble in my remnant stomach, and it hurt pretty bad for 4 days. I couldn't go home until it got better, and thankfully by day 4 it did. Let me know how your appt. goes. I don't see him until June 2nd. Sherry

    Good morning!

I weighed 303 pounds @ the hospital right before surgery. The next day I weighed 323! They gave me a lot of fluids in the OR. I just now lost all of that water retention, and am back @ 303. Oh well, I feel good. Are you having any trouble with drinking fluids? How soon do you have to get your band filled? I am glad you're doing well too!
