I am feeling really good! I have moved on to soft foods and this week will get to start incorporating regular food into my diet. I was only not feeling good for like 4 days and 1 week post op felt great! I lost 7 lbs in the first 10 days and when I got my staples out I was very happy....How are you feeling?

    Hi laura,
I am also on my way to gastric bypass surgery. I have struggled with my weight for 20 years. I am one of 5 children who all all obese. My sister who is one year older and 100 pounds heavier has made very negative comments to me about other people who have had the surgery. her famous saying being" She took the easy way out" I am confused on how anyone can think this process is easy. Every step of the way is difficult bit mostly coming to the realization that your weight has taken control of your life and this is the only way to get it back. When i met for my pysch evaluation i told the dr. about my concerns with my negative sister. She said the people who speak badly about the surgery and individuals who are not strong enough to face their own weight issues. She also mentioned that i need to keep a clear mind and not have any negative distractions while going thru this process. With all that said, since I started the process 10 months ago i have not said a word about it and chose to keep it to myself until surgery is done and maybe never.
