Hey Lizzie. Did you go to the meeting last night? I really was planning to go but my kids gave me the flu and I've been sick since Saturday. Let me know how it went if you went.

Hi Lizzie. I'll try to make this one. I went to see my PCP's PA last week and she mentioned something about a new plastic surgeon. It must be the guy. I'll know better next week. It's my workout night, but I can work something out with my buddy.

Are you planning on going to the Sept. support meeting? From the thread that Bob updated, it's suppose to be really interesting.

I really don't know what's going to happen. My husband is so unhappy, but has been like this for several years. Things are just getting really weird now. He keeps saying he's going to find another job, but he isn't really looking for one. He's very good at what he does and gets a lot of respect at work (even thought things are really fucked up--not his fault). I think he thinks he'll get hired quickly and maybe he will. He works with mainframe computers and a lot of highly skilled people that work on them are retiring. They don't teach that stuff in school anymore so companies are looking for guys like him. The problem is that there are only a couple of companies in Roch that use mainframes (and he'd rather not work at any of them). The one he's at now is getting rid of theirs really soon. I just wish I could plan things better. I told him last night that I can wait to have the surgery. Maybe I'll just keep doing Curves and do their diet. A woman I work out with has lost about 80 pounds in the past year. I really think the surgery is better for me long term, though.

Good luck on your WL. I've lost about 9 pounds since May. I know I can do better, but I can't lose much more or I won't qualify for the surgery. My nut actually told me to try to lose a few but mostly maintain.

Ditto .. and my insurance company requires 5 % loss in the 6 months prior to the surgery. So that is another thing to worry about - I don't remember where I was in April. I think I was 260, and I was 252 on 7/22 and am happy to say that I am the same. So I would need to lose about 8 - 10 pounds in the next three weeks to make sure I stay in the 5 % lost range. I bought a new scale (long story about the other health program insisting I throw my old one away. it's didn't work well anyway.)
I can't go 5 weeks without knowing where I am. So I am trying to be sure I have done everything I need to.

It sucks though if you have to move, I wonder if you could transfer your records so you don't have to start completely over?

Me too. Since we have 6 to 8 weeks from the time we meet with the doc, that shouldn't be a big deal (timewise), providing we get approved. I'm just so sick of this waiting.

yeah about the same - 6 - 8 weeks. that means thanksgiving time for me. i really did not want to be into the holiday's. they are hard enough w/o surgery too. and it's a really busy time of year at work (from nov to feb). but one does what one needs to.
i still need to get through the insurance approval.

Well, it's about time! They just keep prolonging this. Did they give you a timeframe for the surgery? They told me late October/early November.

I would call again and ask. As I said, they were supposed to call me and didn't. Your paperwork was probably in before mine was because I had gone on Tuesday (7/22), but I had put my dog to sleep right before that and forgot my food diary, so I didn't get it done until that Friday (7/25).

My husband is talking about finding a new job and I'm worried that I won't even be here in late October or early November. So, I might have to start all over!
