You must be sooo excited! Only a few weeks now! So which hospital are you going to?

Looks like my first doctor's appointment is going to be delayed for insurance reasons. Ah well, I have time...My insurance requires a six-month diet, which I just started, so the soonest I can hope for a date is next spring/early summer. The dietician has me eating greek yogurt, drinking protein shakes, eating lowfat protein (go go egg whites) and severely limiting my carb intake, I guess to give one a feel for what the after diet is like. On the plus side I've lost almost 20lbs just doing that! Of course, the first month I always loose lots of weight.

I am so glad to hear that! I'd heard that they had really long waiting room wait times, which to me screams of poor planning and a lack of respect. I've not gotten to go yet - my insurance has a rather strict procedure for how they want things done. So first I talk to a bariatric nurse, then a NUT (who put me officially on the required 6-month diet) then a separate nurse who will be my case manager (I talk to her tomorrow). After she registers my choice of doctors I get to go see him. I've scheduled an appointment with Dr. B for 11-5, but we will see tomorrow if I am allowed to keep it. I just really wanted to help the process along, though of course, I have this 6-month diet to do, so that can't be rushed!

I am so happy for you! Less than a month to go. I think the RNY is what I will have as well but we will see. I do you need to do a pre-op diet? Sounds like some surgeons want liquids, some just very low fat/carbs... I'd be very interested in hearing all about it!

YES I HAVE..I'm worried after reading through here though about the change in taste bads. I'm SUPER picky..I don't like milk, chocolate, strawberry,or even vanilla flavored stuff! I've tried different shakes/drinks..I discoverd ISOPURE PLUS..it tastes just like gatorade no lie..you can buy them in plastic bottles or the glass bottles (my preference) i love the alpine punch/grape frost..they have zero sugar pure whey protein!

Awesome!! I'm right in the middle of my 3 month wait. I should be ready to submit to insurance in December. I'm having my 2nd sleep study(cpap) in the next few weeks, & in Nov. I have 2 appts w/nutrionist! In addition my monthly visits with my PCP. Its getting closer, I feel this week like I've already been approved cuz I had some good reports from blood work. I'm so excited!
