    Dearest Lisa

I got soooo excited last week when I saw a post by you entitled "I'm Back" but it turned out to be an old thread with a darn spammer riding on the back of it - it was a good post though and seeing your happy face made my day!

Hope all is well with you and oh yes by the way - I loved the piece on Jim's Lesser Friends!!!

Thanks for adding me as a friend

Ah, haven't had a chance to post for almost a week, though I've read the threads when I could. The acrimony that is happening always seems to be the same people, some of whom I've tangled with in the past, some of whom I learned to love even through the cloud of controversy that seems to follow them around.

Sorry, made myself chuckle with that one. Anyone remember Pigpen from Charlie Brown? He always brought his own dust cloud with him.

The bad part about all this...

It's kind of weird--I'm trapped in Chicago, it's the middle of the night, I'm in a strange hotel, I was on my feet for 15 hours straight with one 20-minute break (seriously) walked for miles (no exaggeration) through O'Hare Airport, and yet, I'm happy! I'll figure it out later, tired of questioning myself--if anyone has any idea why I feel so good these days with one of the toughest jobs I've ever had, post a comment and let me know!

Anyway, here's what today (whoops, now yesterday)...

Only one more hurdle to cross--the IOE, or main on-the-job test. Finished my familiarization flight today, four legs of flight, St. Louis to Jacksonville, FL, Jacksonville, FL, to St. Louis, St. Louis to Milwaukee, and then back. Took about 11 hours all told, with only one delayed start.

I am stumbling, I'm so exhausted, and grinning because I'm so exhilarated. I loved it--I got a great check airman, who showed it to me once for one leg, then had me do it the second leg, third...

Was talking to my flight school instructor about materials with bold prints--she was wearing a gorgeous dress with a terrific black and gold print. I told her I got out of the habit of wearing prints when I weighed 300 pounds. She turned to me and said, "But you're not that person any more."

Wow. Set off this huge train of thought that has been pounding at me ever since. I'm not that person any more. I'm not the person who weighs 300 pounds. I'm this person. This...

Counting my blessings that is... along with my proteins, and yes, I'm on track for today.

The fingers that are typing this are covered with fingernail polish, something rare and unusual for me... I'm turning into a girl after all these years! Makeup, even lipstick every day, got my hair cut, now fingernail polish and I'm seriously thinking about painting my toenails, too. I'm now in a business where image counts, and I'm liking it...

I finally understand why women...
