Tina the sippy cup has me laughing, but I am glad you are getting preparred. I too am a guzzler and when I was in my first 3 months after surgery did great with sips. Today I can take a double mouth worth of liquid, as I still like to have a "little guzzle", but my body has developed defense mechanisms to try and prevent the stomach from becoming full to quickly, or maybe my fear has directed my brain to react as I dont like the full stomach feeling at all.

Well it is 7:30 here and we are off to start to prepare ourselves and luggage for our trip next Tuesday.

Have a great weekend Tina and will be in touch soon.

    Hugs
    Paul

    Tina,
I just noticed that I am 364 days older than you, as August 13, 1962 is my birthday. and now are rebirth dates are going to be one year and 11 days different. That is cool.

I wish you all the best for your surgery, be strong, be positive, dont think to much about it.

Good for you to enjoy the frappicinos until now and great that you stopped with the soda already. I think that I ate what I wanted until the surgery, as the system here in Italy or at my surgeon and dr was not the same as many go through in the USA, at least there is not fasting, liquid dieting or dieting expected prior to the surgery, they hope you dont gain alot of weight between pre-op testings and the actual operation which on average is 3.5 months.

It is truely a wonderful gift to have come so far in my first year. I am truely grateful for the support of my partner who has literally held my hand through every moment, as he was my voice, my guide, my caregiver, my parent and much more all in one. He deserves a gold medal for going through the operation with me, as well as the support of family and friends and the Italian and American forums I am members on.

You will do great Tina, be patient with yourself and go slowly, do as suggested my your surgeon/dr and get all the support you can, surround yourself with it, I believe it really has helped me. I am here as well as the other members, and for me it is a pleasure to be able to help others take this wonderful journey.

I send you warm wishes for a great operation. Talk with you soon.

    Abbracci(hugs)
    Paul

    Hi Friends,

My one year anniversary is coming up on May 18 and I have just added a new album under my profile pebitpeb, "My Journey". I have photos taken over the past 5 years of my life and if you click on any photo there is a caption attached.

It is hard to believe that only one year ago I was preparring to go into a hospital in Pisa, Italy and receive an operation that would give me a wonderful new life. Getting the surgery had become something that I had given up on when still living in the USA, however when I moved to Italy 2 years ago, it became attainable. Who would have ever thought living in Italy and having gastric bypass, abdominoplasty and getting my hip replaced all in 1year. It really is appropriate though as moving to Italy, new language, new culture, new experiences, new person and a terrific new life.

I give thanks for the support I have received here and look forward to continuing this journey as part of this great TT family.

    Paul
