Hey!! Things are going well, feeling pretty good other than being exhausted!!! Heck no you won't be wearing those next year. Isn't that such a great feeling?!?! I've been trying to wear the heck out of my favorite hoodie before I have to retire it! How are things going with you?

I too have PCOS, I'm so thankful to have WLS early on so I won't have to go through the pain you've gone through my dear.

Thats awesome that you're therapist has had WLS. It's always so much easier to talk to someone who has been through it and understand.

Take care sweetheart, you're almost there!!! :0)

I went through infertility treatments to know avail (have PCOS), so look forward to this resolving. Getting up there in age, though, so hope I will find a good guy to have a child with!!!
Good for you doing this at such a young age! I so wish I could have relived the last 10 years or so thinner and healthier and more confident in myself, but we live and learn...

I have done 6 months of medical wt mgmt and lost about 20 lbs (just going to to my PCP every month to check in, basically).
Their program was actually really great- good info, support for 1 year after surgery, etc. I'm seeing a therapist who specializes in life after WLS & had WLS 11 years ago.
It is great to work through the issues (emotional, etc) that led me to this point. I know it will be difficult since we basically have to change our relationship with food and now see it as sustinance for living, not emotional support, social, etc.

You're surgery is coming up! This is definitely a start to a new life, and it's so exciting!!! I'm sorry to hear about your divorce though dear.

I am on liquid for 2 weeks. The first week clear liquids, and just moved onto cream soups, milk, protein shakes. Getting enough liquid hasn't been a problem for me, but... the protein the first week IS REALLY hard to get in. I'm so glad I moved onto stage 2 and can now have protein shakes!

I'm 21, and I live in Louisville, KY. Looking forward to a new me, and eventually being able to have children (reason for surgery).
My name is also Kathleen... It's a good name! :0)

So do you have to do any dieting before the surgery?

Hi again! Glad ot hear you are doing well!!! I am scheduled for Lap RNY on 4/28/09! I am sooo excited and also terrified! I am 36 and live outside Philadelphia, PA.
Getting divorced, so seeing this as not only a chance to improve my health and appearance, but to start a whole new life! Are you on liquid diet for 2 weeks? Any trouble getting enough protein or water?
