Aw, thank you for taking the time to write a visitor message, and such a kind one at that! I hope you find this forum to be a big part of the support we all need after this surgery! It will change you, and change your life. Hopefully for the better.

Hi Kathleen, how are you? What surgery are you having; lapband or gastric bypass? I am having gastric bypass and I am just sooo psyched and cannot wait until my surgery date. Don't have an official date yet but will be at the end of July/beginning of August. What is you beginning weight; mine right now is 281. My preop stuff is very specific and really a big pain in the butt, but I am sure I will be glad they put me through all of this when it is all over. I think the only fear per se I have is the loose skin issue. I am doing swim aerobics and these rubberband-like exercises for muscle toning, hopefully they do some good. Well it is getting late, just got home from my parttime job and want to settle down and watch some TV. I am off my fulltime job this weekend but I am on-call, hopefully I don't get paged, LOL. Have a good w/e.

Hey there! I am sooo happy for you! I would like us to become buddies so we keep in contact with each other. I hope my approval goes as smooth as yours. I need the 6 month, 5 year history, nutri and pyshc evaluation and that's it. I am submitting my 5 year hear next month because I want to get everything in before my 6 months ends. It will end on 08/01, that is when I will be going to my last appointment and off to the races I go. I have prayed on the last Tuesday in August to have the surgery but the sooner the better. Also August is my Birthday month so that would be nice, another Birthday. After next month I will half way through with my diet. WOW!

Yes we will!! hehe :0) It is very interesting how different places requires different things and do things so different.

Awwwe! :0( I'm sorry girl. That's no good. Men are such jerks... *hugs* But we will have tons of options when we are skinny chicks... ;o)

No husband, boyfriend, kids... any of that for me. I work with kids and I adore kids though.

I have PCOS too! And insulin resistance... it sucks.. but we can look forward to it going bye bye after surg. yay!

Yay! I'm excited for you! That's soon! When did you start your journey?
I went to an info session back in October so from start to my actual surgery date (which is 4/16) it will have been like 6 m. Not bad.
I know what you mean about being excited and scared. I'm all that too. Most of the time, I am just READY. I just want the next few weeks to fly by so I can get this done and start my new life. Ya know?
Of course I am a little worried about the pain. Have you ever had surgery before? I haven't so I don't know what to expect. That kinda scares me. But, I keep telling myself that it will pass and it's worth a week or 2 of pain.
I'm from Minnesota... burr. It actually started to SNOW again today. Which is insanely ridiculous! It was like 50 last week. now snow! Stupid MN. haha. It won't last long. And nothing is sticking to the ground but still.
Okay... sorry I just typed a book for you to read. :0) That's me for ya... haha. Anyway. I hope your having a great thursday!! :0)

Hi Karmar! Welcome to the TT family. I am going through my 6 month diet right now. How long did it take for you to get an answer back from the insurance on approval. I was looking to have my surgery in August. I just started on 02/06.

I too have PCOS, I'm so thankful to have WLS early on so I won't have to go through the pain you've gone through my dear.

Thats awesome that you're therapist has had WLS. It's always so much easier to talk to someone who has been through it and understand.

Take care sweetheart, you're almost there!!! :0)

Hi All,
Got up today at 4:30am and got to the hospital at 5:45as planned. I was surprisingly calm and contained. The staff there were great- really attentive and kind.

So I am totally prepped, saw the anesthesiologist, nurses, etc, was all hooked up on my IV. Next right before surgery the surgeon came in to chat with me. So he notices I'm on prednisone and says "thats not good"- he asked if I informed his office and I told him I called on...
