Sorry had to break my message into 2 seperate posts... I am too long winded!

Luckily, I didn't have to go on a 6 mnth diet. I just had to do the 4 wk pre-op diet.
Even with everything, I would do it over again in an instant! I am down from a tight 18 to a 12 in 2 short months. I am loving it!
I also found that everyone is different so talk to as many people as you can about your experiences along your journey. My sis had the same surgery 1 wk before me & the things she can eat is completely different than what I can. She can handle about 12gms of sugar at a time without experiencing dumping but I can only handle about 5gms.
I suggest you experiment & even if something doesn't agree with you 1 day, try it again in a wk. I had a few days when I thought I was lactose intolerant. But now I don't have an issue. It is all trial & error.
Well good luck! You won't regret your decision!

I live 40 miles east of Reno. Where are you?
I had my surgery on April 7th, 2009 & also had a 2nd surgery on April 22nd to fix an obstructed bowel. My bowels twisted & stuck to the incision on my sm. intestines. My dr told me that the internal incisions are "sticky" so this sometimes happens. It was an easy fix, they went into the same incisions as the 1st surgery and he just "un-stuck" it. He didn't have to cut into anything to fix it. Although I must say that the 2nd surgery recovery time was worse than the 1st surgery. Probably because my body was already fatigued & hadn't had time to recoup from the 1st surgery.
