Thanks, She is doing great! I just got her yesterday! We have a lot to do, PCSing very soon and then she gets her r and r and goes back. But we are trying to enjoy this as much as possible. As far as the pushups go, I actually did 100 on tuesday, as far as passing an Army PT Test goes, I can do the run and the pushups, I cannot do even one situp yet, my trainer is doing all core stuff with me right now, I am getting there, I am twenty pounds away from goal and I think about the time I get there I will be able to pass the test!
Yeah we are few and far between, although there are a few here in the Logistics unit my wife is in. Have you done a tour overseas? If not, I would encourage your husband to try, mechanics can and do go everywhere, We have been in Germany since 2004 and not looking to leave anytime soon! Haven't been to Hood, but I've obviously met several who have, people from Texas seem to love it, everyone else, looking to leave it seems. I hope my wife doesn't mind the change, I was so torn on whether to do the surgery or not, I basically let her decide, she said do it. I didn't do it FOR her, I just couldn't decide, and let her tip the scales.
Tanya, Could you share a little about your adjustment period with your husband? I too am an Army Spouse, my wife is deployed, she deployed two days after my surgery, and in the nearly 4 months since I am down 135 pounds. I don't plan on seeing her for 4 more months on R and R, so who knows how much different I'll be by then. I send pics, did you? Although I am not sure how much pics can do, they are after all two dimensional. I do think about her coming home to a stranger.
Anyways great progress on your part, you look like you really enjoy excercise! I am enjoying the excercise too, I do cardio daily on my own and work with a trainer and strength and resistance. We are in Bamberg Germany, and my wife is in Intel, you?
so both mom and dad are heavy? thank God you are doing so well and have encouraged them to get healthy too. Sorry your struggling to eat, girl i sure wish i WOULD struggle with eating really i wish i did
no i wasnt just saying that you were comparing, but darn near everyone in that post was saying o i can only eat this and only eat that much so no honey not just you how exciting your mom's having the surgery too
Tell me about it! I also forgot to answer your other question. I'm having the surgery on the economy by an excellent surgeon, and it's done laproscopically. YAY!
Oh man! You guys just missed the cut off date for 12 month deployments. As of Aug 1st, deployments are down to 12 months instead of 15. That sucks! But you're right, it's a great time to work on you. Physically and mentally. My hubby is on TDY till the 22nd of Aug in Italy, I miss him but at the same it's given me time to think about going through this working through the reasons I do the things I do to myself (self-destructively, i.e., binge eating, sweet eating). He doesn't understand why I do it, hell I don't either but he doesn't know what it means to have a messed up childhood or be overweight (well except for being like 7 lbs over according to Army standards....) Man, I just kinda went off on a tangent didn't I? Oh yeah, that's one thing I don't miss is those hot ass Texas summers. You know, the ones from Feb-Nov....LOL! It's hot over here, but not as hot BUT we don't have air conditioning over here. CRAZY! We had to break down and buy a small unit for our bedroom to be able to sleep at night. Well...I think I've rambled on enough...have a good weekend!
