Hi John, I have a question...is there a way I can change the name of the group I created? Thanks!

It's amazing to see how much it has grown. Thank you for doing such a good job managing it. Suzanne

John, I put up a little poll in the nutrition section about dividing up the recipe section into sub-categories for the different stages of diets. Everyone who voted thought it would be very helpful. Here is the thread.

Not sure if that is possible but I thought I would bounce the idea off from you. Thank you for all you do for us and the forum. You are constantly trying to find ways to improve it and to educate and I am truly grateful.

John, thanks for bringing light to a very dark time on this board. You are wise beyond your years. And I see you're an accomplished pilot, wow! My 2nd oldest is on Coronado with the Navy, as a Rescue Swimmer and helicopter crewman. He's trying to decide what he wants to do in the future, either civilian air rescue, flight surgeon, or Helo pilot. You remind me a lot of him. Very calm and mature. I call him my little hippy.

That's awesome--I loved the astronomy class I took as an undergrad. (Many moons ago...) In fact, I restructured my 6th grade class to be a little more collegiate (and hands on) in method. I bought solar filters so that we could track sun spots and held community night classes so that the kids got to see something that they've never seen before. Their parents could come to. You wouldn't believe the number of people that have never seen the moon up close, or Jupiter or Saturn for that matter. I've seen grown men and women cry in awe when they see what's out there with their own eyes for the first time. It's so fascinating! Even though I'm not actively teaching it now, we are in the midst of organizing a "Star Party" before the end of this school year for a buddy of mine's 7th graders. I love seeing the kids' faces when they see Jupiter or Saturn for the first time! - Mike

I used to be into Astronomy more when I taught 6th grade--it was part of the curriculum. I've got a 10 inch Dobsonian reflector that I tinker with occasionally. It's really just a loose hobby right now. Lately, I've been into trying to photograph things through the telescope. The moon, Jupiter, Saturn, our hot neighbor down the street (kidding...), and Venus come out okay, but I've not had a lot of luck with clusters or nebulae... The profile page was inspired by my iGoogle page, which is set to the planet theme. I did a little cutting and pasting. -Mike

    Hi John

Thanks for checking in on me - doing very well and living life to the FULL - only regret is that I don't have as much time as before to visit with my friends on TT - summer has arrived in the UK and with the newfound energy and confidence levels peaking I just can't get enough of living

Can't believe how TT is growing and I'm still figuring out all the new features you've added over the last couple of months.

Thanks for everything you do for the International WLS community!

    Hugs and kisses

Thank you John for the picture comment. We feel fantastic! It's all thanks to your dad...he really is a wonderful surgeon. He takes care of his patients and so does his whole staff.
