Your disappointment will soon be over--the day you go for your op, I'll be starting my first day of real food again! Time passes so quickly, so don't despair. You can use this time to lose a bit more weight before, which will make things go quickly post op.

My best news is that I've been on blood pressure meds since my son was born nearly 5 years ago. A week after surgery, my blood pressure had normalised and Prof Heine has discontinued my medication. Also, I used to take a pill every day for insulin resistance, which I now also no longer need. I'm saving R450 a month already, never mind about all the food...

Hey Joedy, sorry I've taken so long to reply but I only got back from Gauteng late yesterday afternoon and its been hectic every since.

The surgery went REALLY well--we really are with the best doc for this procedure. His team is outstanding and they looked after me beautifully at Unitas.

I followed their advice and walked 4 hours after getting back to the ward from surgery, which I carried on doing every 2 hours until discharge. Since then I've tried to walk twice a day and am already up to 45mins walking.

You are much younger than I am so this is going to be a breeze for you. Also, you're starting at a lower weight/bmi so you'll do really well.

I'm already seeing clients (I work in property development so cannot afford to miss out on any potential buyers!) and have got a lot of energy.

Hi Joedy, thanks so much for the message--keep the faith: I also got a cold in the puree phase. Maybe its a cleansing phase! I wouldn't worry about a few lapses. Last weekend I had a special function that I've been planning the whole year and did try each of the four courses. Thought i may be sick but nothing happened and so I'm just carrying on. My weight has dropped so the liver must be shrinking a bit!

Skies ek laat hoor nou eers weer van my. Was amper 2 maande laas op die site. My foon is gesteel so kan nie meer van die huis af opgaan. Ook nie mal daaroor om op kampus rekenaars op te gaan waar almal kan sien wat ek aanvang nie. Dan nog al jou kontakbesonderhede verloor. Kan jy dit asb weer my stuur?

Ek's baie bly om te hoor als het goed gegaan! Hoe voel jy nou? Was als darem smooth sailing gewees?

Hi daar. Wanne gaan jy vir die reversal en wat gaan dit kos?My niere pyn op die oomblik erg en wat die bowel movements betref dis nog maar nog so baie en vrek onaangenaam. Kry baie erge winde en opgeblaas as en te veel brood ens eet. Sukkel maar met al die water drink en ek vreloor verskriklik stadig.....maak my so moedeloos.
