    hi jo

great to hear from you, i was wondering how you were getting on, it's good to hear you are happy with your weight loss (i'm not very happy with mine i must admit).

i've lost about 19lbs altogether and i did think it would have been better than that to start with. i seem to consistently lose about 2lbs a week and i really did think i would have lost more than that for the first couple of months at least but sadly that's not the case for me. i'm not eating anything i shouldn't so i don't know what the issue is!

it's funny that you lose weight off your feet isn't it? that was one thing i noticed when i lost my weight a few years ago - i had to throw out a few pairs of shoes that i really liked - it broke my heart but they were just too big!

i know you'll say that everyone loses at different rates but i'm a bit fed up at the moment and wish i could start to feel the weight loss in my clothes at least.

Ah well enough moaning from me for today - i'm going out with the girls after work today so i have to prepare myself for that!

    keep in touch.

    Hello jo!

How are you feeling?? poor love, i think i know really. where did you have your op?

I would love to meet up with others. I have a couple of contacts whom, I was in hospital with but, i've not really had time to do more. do have an idea of the kind of support you feel you need from others? It can be truly confusing so soon after the op.

My thoughts are with you and I look forward to hearing from you

    hi jo

first of all my hame came from our totally mental dog "Honey" she's a cavapoo (her mother is a cavalier and her father is a poodle) ha ha.

i weighed myself when i got back from bruges on the 7th august and i had lost about 15 lbs - which i was delighted with. i weighed myself again about two days later and i had actually put up weight which i suppose was to be expected as i hadn't really eaten for five days when i weighed myself the first time. when i weighed myself last friday 15th (which would have been about a week later) i had lost 3.5 lbs, i'm going to wait until friday this week to weigh myself again and see how i got on. i think i might have been overdoing it with high carb foods like creamed rice and potatoes etc. i'll let you know how i get on.

i haven't really had any ill effects of any food to speak of, i made a chilli con carne for everyone last week and had a small portion of it (just the mince part) and i found it took a long time for me to digest it but nothing too drastic.

thankfully i'm not back in work until 1st september which i'm delighted about because i find the tiredness in the afternoons a bit of a problem, and it's great to be able to have a nap if i need to.

i don't have any aches or pains related to the surgery (the only problem i've noticed in the past week is constipation) yeuch!

you really are doing very well with the weight loss! i'm sure you are very pleased with that, keep up the good work. keep me posted of your progress and let me know how things are going.

hi jo, how are things? i'm delighted to see you have joined the forum. i have to admit i haven't been on in a while - i've been a bit wrapped up in waiting for my son's exam results and he is also going to spain for two weeks with his pals on tuesday and i've been stressing about that as well!! (he's only 17 so you can imagine!)

how's it been going for you? i have to admit it's been a bit mixed for me. i weighed myself when i got back from bruges and one weed after surgery i had lost 15 lbs! of course i had eaten practically nothing for three days in hospital. i haven't had any major problems with food yet (fingers crossed). one of my biggest problems is not being able to have a cup of tea with my meals - being irish we really have to have tea with everything(!!) ha ha.

i also find tiredness an issue, i seem to really hit a wall in the afternoons. i haven't returned to work yet, not until 1st september, so i hope that this will have sorted itself out by then or i'll be falling asleep onto my keyboard.

I can't believe you're back in work already! and you have a tough job to do, it's not like you have a particularly sedentary job like mine just sitting at a desk. i hope you're not overdoing it.

anyway, let me know how you are, i'd love to hear from you.

I think we are eating about he same ammount which is reassuring.
I don't think i am missing food itself its the social aspect and also the pleasure of shopping for something nice. There is only so much pleasure one can get from buying washing powder and loo roll.
When i went back to work i had hoped to coast it but unfortunately things went a bit pair shaped in my absence. I also leave my job at the end of August and i really want to leave my caseload in the best possible state. I am tking it easy at home. I did not put the sick note in probably stupid of me but I have used my annual leave. I am having carpal tunnel surgery on 3rd of September therefore i did not want to blot my copy book by taking too much time off. I know its early days but skin is already getting baggy and i may want to have some chopped off next year.
Thanks for your message- i am really glad to have joined this web site
    Love JO

    Hi Jo,
Not sure how to change your name but will try to find a way and let you know.
Cant believe you are back at work thought you were going to get a sick note!!!
You need to be careful we are only 2 weeks post op and you may feel better than you actually are so please please pet look after yourself.
I know what you mean i have also been a bit low and i think a small part of me is missing my real food it has always been such a comfort to me!!
I am managing to eat a little more but had a bad experience with an egg yesterday (managed it ok before this) it got stuck and i could not manage anything for hours not even water so that has scared me a bit. I know im not getting enough protein but am not worried as i know my intake of protein will rise from saturday on. Im getting very tired of soup but i did find a lovely soup in m&s tomato and basil and it really is quite delicious.
    Typical day
breakfast- half a packet of ready break made with semi-skimmed milk
lunch- half a small tin of soup and 1 crispbread
supper- same as lunch or a scrambled egg or some puree meat but really dont like the puree...
    snack- highlights chocolate mousse
somedays i might have another snack of a yoghurt depends on how early i have lunch.
Barry doing fine working today and Naomi is in nursery so me and Dylan are off out to mum and dads
    Chat soon
