Hi Jacque, glad to hear all went well. In answer to your question, the sugar content you are seeing is from the apples themselves. Fruit has natural sugars in them so you will always see sugar when you have fruit. I would say it is ok to try it but be careful. If your pouch is extremely sensitive to sugar you may dump on it. If not, you will be fine, just remember that it doesn't have any protein in it so you don't want to use it to often. If you need it to help get meds down I would say go ahead and try it and see how it goes. For myself, my pouch isn't real sensitive to sugar so I do fine with fruit and would have the no added sugar applesauce at 2 weeks postop.
