Hey Jenn
This is a copy of a message I sent you earlier this week. Didn't know if you received it, so I thought I would resend. Can't wait to hear how you are doing.
Re: advice?

Hi Jenn,
So nice to hear from someone close to here. So many on this forum are from other states. Yes, my doctor was Dr. Steiner from St. Joe's East. Wendy who works in the insurance department is a very good friend. I had my surgery on a Friday morning and was released on Sunday. The hospital staff is great, I took extra p.j.'s with me and it felt very good to have them on instead of a gown when I went walking. Other than that, they furnished everything else. My biggest complaint after surgery was gas pain (be sure to ask for Gas-X from the nurses) and dry mouth. I thought I would never get my thirst quench. I ate lots of ice chips, because we aren't able to take very big sips afterwards. I wanted to gulp that water so bad, but couldn't. As for pain, I was in average pain right after surgery, they gave me Loratab (was allergic to it), switched me to Dilaudid (another allergic reaction), finally was able to take Percocet. The nurses don't want you to be in pain and even reminded us when the med was due, if we wanted it. Once I was up and able to walk, I tried to stay out of bed and I think that helped a lot. Dr. Neighbert was the doc who released me, not Dr. Steiner, so he sent me home with a Rx for Loratab and I didn't even need to get it filled. Just keep moving and you will do great. I hope this has helped and again I am so glad you wrote me. This is the best thing I have done and would do it again in a heartbeat. If you have any more questions, please ask. My regular e-mail is:

Feel free to e-mail as much as you want, I check it every day. I hadn't been on Thinner Times in a week, so sorry if I took awhile to get back with you. Good Luck and keep in touch.
