Hi Janelle, Time is going so fast! My surgery 3/25went great, no complications at all. Loved pushing the morphine button the first day I haven't had any nausea or dumping yet. And don't want it At my 3 week appointment today I'm down 20lbs My biggest challenges are water and protein..just like many I'm sure. I'm already eating non pureed foods and tolerating well. How are you doing? Any challenges? I need to get a picture of me for this site so I don't keep coming up as a ?!! The one thing I can think of that I mis is eating something crunchy. So far the no sweets thing isn't bugging me!!! Shocker Hope to here from you soon.

I cant think of anything I really miss. I would have to say I have been pretty blessed that I havent really had the head cravings. I have only really craved things I can eat. Like cottage cheese. I see CHOCOLATE on tv sometimes and think mmmm! But then I know thats not where I want to be and the feelings of want seem to go away. I dont know. Ive deff. got a WLS angel on my shoulder. How bout you?

Hey thanks :-) Yes, just use a splash, totally! I learned the hard way that a little goes a looooong way. What I usually do is stir in the chocolate protein, and then pour the extract into the bowl part of the spoon -- not a full spoonful, just the bottom bowl part. Does that make sense? I used too much peppermint once and YUCK. Although I seem to have not found what "too much" is for Almond -- that one is my favorite!

Congrats on the drop! Those are nice feelings huh?!
I am doing good. I have a little infection in a incision. =0( I am on some NASTAY antibiotics but I feel good. I have been walking since day 1 and this weekend I did some resistance training. I am back to work =0( Just when I was enjoying the time off!! Haha! No, but its all good. Good to be back to work and good to be feeling normal again. Im on soft foods but have been taking things very slowly. My goal is to work on my protein.
Have you started excercising? Back to work? (Oh yeah, joined 24 today!! )

I am on pureed, but I can have chicken if it is chopped in the food processor. So far, I have done VERY well. I have had two episodes of tummy aches after eating. Once, I accidently drank some milk with cocoa that was "no sugar added" instead of sugar free. I didn't realize what a great distinction that was. Then, last week, I dipped some chicken that I dipped in ranch dressing. I had a bit of a tummy ache after that. But I'm still feeling great! I've found that this week I am craving milk and cheese. And I finally had a big drop this last week. Woo-hoo!! I was so excited! How are you doing? Are you back at work? Have you started exercising yet?

Hey Janelle! What stage are you at in your diet? I read somewhere that you ate some chicken. Im still on pureed. I should get to move on to the next round on Friday. How is your little belly adjusting?

WOO HOO way to go! Do you have any pain? Are you hungry? My surgery is next Tuesday the 25th. I've been busy with my daughter who had major knee surgery friday. She has to be on a movement machine 8 hours a day for 8 weeks! Helping her get around and clean up is fulltime. I'm a little nervous how I'm going to be able to help her after my surgery. But it has taken my mind off me and I'm not very nervous about the actual surgery. So what are you doing to occupy your time while your off work? Looking at Miata catalogs

I don't think I ever realized how much weight impacted my general outlook in life. Having lost 100 pounds in a little over 8 months, the physical changes are certainly huge, but the emotional ones are probably just as big. My confidence level is so much higher. I'm so much happier in general.

A couple of weeks ago, I needed to get some new jeans. Mine were falling off of me, literally. I had perused some websites and found a cute pair at Lane Bryant. I went shopping one day...

I have been so excited about losing weight. I finally felt that I was ready to date again. So, I joined eHarmony and have been meeting eligible men. One of particular interest lived just 15 minutes from me, so after a couple of weeks of email, we decided to have lunch. Well, after three weeks of contact (all of which was great), he decided after meeting me that he didn't want to continue anything with me. Obviously, it was still the weight that did for him. I really just hate dating. I guess...

Well, it finally happened to me. I've been expecting to plateau for a couple of weeks now, and it happened this week. I know I need to get in some real exercise, so that's what I'm going to do. I have two dogs who desperately need to be walked, so I have two incentives for getting off my duff.

I haven't dropped in clothing sizes like I would have expected either. I guess all those elastic waisted pants have just stretched out to accomodate my growing girth! I seem to have lost...

Sitting here tonight, I've thought about the path my life was on two years ago. Then, I was engaged, moving to Birmingham, and planning a future with a man I loved. I had applied to go to graduate school at the University of Alabama and bought a four door car with expectations of putting two car seats in the back. Isn't it funny how life comes along and screws up your plans?

Within a couple of months of making these plans, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and chronic...

The weather was lovely today. I decided to run an evening errand. I got in my freshly scrubbed car, put on my sunglasses, and proceeded to cruise (as cooly as one can cruise in a 4 door sedan) to Turkey Creek to do a little shopping. I cranked up some music and just drove. On the way home, I was reminded of all those times when I owned the Miata and just cruised around. I was not tiny then, but I was certainly sassy. I was a voluptuous, vampy little thing. Now, I see a middle aged, frumpy...
