hi jo
great to hear from you, i was wondering how you were getting on, it's good to hear you are happy with your weight loss (i'm not very happy with mine i must admit).
i've lost about 19lbs altogether and i did think it would have been better than that to start with. i seem to consistently lose about 2lbs a week and i really did think i would have lost more than that for the first couple of months at least but sadly that's not the case for me. i'm not eating anything i shouldn't so i don't know what the issue is!
it's funny that you lose weight off your feet isn't it? that was one thing i noticed when i lost my weight a few years ago - i had to throw out a few pairs of shoes that i really liked - it broke my heart but they were just too big!
i know you'll say that everyone loses at different rates but i'm a bit fed up at the moment and wish i could start to feel the weight loss in my clothes at least.
Ah well enough moaning from me for today - i'm going out with the girls after work today so i have to prepare myself for that!
keep in touch.

Dear Tina
Nice to hear from you glad you were able to take some time off after your surgery- i think i should have had more time.
One of the main things you may find when you go back is fitting in all the eating and drinking we are supposed to do either i manage a good eating day or a good drinking day i cannot seem to do both.
Constipation - you mentioned its dreadful isnt it - i guess we just cannot eat enough to let our systems work properly. One of our other brugge colleagues has the same problem. I have tried a couple of things Senna seems to be the best. I did try pureed apple which i always reommend my patients however what a disaster i had a really horrid dump and felt foul for a couple of hors- it did not have the disired effect either.
Weight wise how are you doing ?
I am still on soft stuff cannot manage much a tablespoon and a half or so- i get full very quickly but i think i do eat too quickly although much slower than before. What are you managing to eat?
I am pleased to say i am enjoying a complete new wardrobe from my sister who has also shrunk. Its quite ammusing because i never really wore much colour before my sister wears - well i do now a lot of pink . My feet have lost weight - have yours good excuse for shopping- which is a new hobby
Take Care

hi jo
first of all my hame came from our totally mental dog "Honey" she's a cavapoo (her mother is a cavalier and her father is a poodle) ha ha.
i weighed myself when i got back from bruges on the 7th august and i had lost about 15 lbs - which i was delighted with. i weighed myself again about two days later and i had actually put up weight which i suppose was to be expected as i hadn't really eaten for five days when i weighed myself the first time. when i weighed myself last friday 15th (which would have been about a week later) i had lost 3.5 lbs, i'm going to wait until friday this week to weigh myself again and see how i got on. i think i might have been overdoing it with high carb foods like creamed rice and potatoes etc. i'll let you know how i get on.
i haven't really had any ill effects of any food to speak of, i made a chilli con carne for everyone last week and had a small portion of it (just the mince part) and i found it took a long time for me to digest it but nothing too drastic.
thankfully i'm not back in work until 1st september which i'm delighted about because i find the tiredness in the afternoons a bit of a problem, and it's great to be able to have a nap if i need to.
i don't have any aches or pains related to the surgery (the only problem i've noticed in the past week is constipation) yeuch!
you really are doing very well with the weight loss! i'm sure you are very pleased with that, keep up the good work. keep me posted of your progress and let me know how things are going.

Dear Hunnybunny
Where did your name come from?
How are you?
I am completely cream crackered work is hideous i went back too soon and have been weepy at some points most days - no regrets about surgery just more tender and tired than i thought i would be.
Food wise i have gone slightly backwards a few days ago i had some pureed mince and then had difficulty swallowing for a few days so i am back on soup on recomendation from the WLS company - still its cheap- convenient and i have a freezer full of small pots of it.
Weight wise I was 18.3 pre op diet then 17.11 before brugge 16.11 on return and now 15.8
Start my new job in 2 weeks time have just tried on uniforms that i ordered a while ago they look rather silly now so i shall be sending them back
Tummy pains seem to be the same as noonies healed up now on the surface but a bit lumpy underneath
The main thing that bugs me is that weight is going off every where bar my tummy which now looks more noticable than it did before- I am not sure what to do about this as we cannot go to the gym yet . I went to a beauty parlour place at lunch time where there was a machine to stand on which wobbled you - just like a spin drier to loose weight and tone an interresting concept but not accessible on a daily basis due to time.
Anyhow how are you what are you managing to eat - have you bought new clothes yet or are you waiting
Love Jo

hi jo, how are things? i'm delighted to see you have joined the forum. i have to admit i haven't been on in a while - i've been a bit wrapped up in waiting for my son's exam results and he is also going to spain for two weeks with his pals on tuesday and i've been stressing about that as well!! (he's only 17 so you can imagine!)
how's it been going for you? i have to admit it's been a bit mixed for me. i weighed myself when i got back from bruges and one weed after surgery i had lost 15 lbs! of course i had eaten practically nothing for three days in hospital. i haven't had any major problems with food yet (fingers crossed). one of my biggest problems is not being able to have a cup of tea with my meals - being irish we really have to have tea with everything(!!) ha ha.
i also find tiredness an issue, i seem to really hit a wall in the afternoons. i haven't returned to work yet, not until 1st september, so i hope that this will have sorted itself out by then or i'll be falling asleep onto my keyboard.
I can't believe you're back in work already! and you have a tough job to do, it's not like you have a particularly sedentary job like mine just sitting at a desk. i hope you're not overdoing it.
anyway, let me know how you are, i'd love to hear from you.
