Sorry it has taken me so long to respond....been out of town. I think ALSA is a great surgery group. They have a great track record and are the only surgery group I would trust in our area. They have done blood tests a couple of times. At my 6 month appointment I was already at their goal so Dr. Boone said not to come back until my year appointment. My PCP did not agree with this because at that time I was still losing 15 pounds a month. So my PCP now sees me every 3 to 4 weeks. My loss has slowed down...this month only 4 pounds but my labs are still not totally normal. Lots of tweaking to be done on protein intake, vitamins, water, etc. Dr Boone was not concerned about my loss he was just happy I had made my goal and he referred me to a Neuphrologist to monitor some of my lab inconsistencies. I I am not complaining though...I love the new me.

Thanks for your comment, i'm from the Oakhurst area. So, they are good for the first few visits then you sort of drop out? And my actual PCP told me that they are supposed to moniter me with blood tests and stuff so that will be interesting to see how it unfolds. I just got a surgery date today, so I'll be having surgery with Dr.Higa on the 17th...it's pretty crazy...I'm so nervous! I've got tons of emotions going on right now...I suppose that's normal. Now you have me wondering if their after care is going to really stink...I've heard they are pretty good doctors...hopefully things will work out well for me. I just want my body to respond well you know and not get all wacked out. Who knows. It's pretty nervewracking. So are you loosing too fast? What has Dr.Boone said to you regarding that?

ford9n, I see your doctor is Dr.Boone...and you are in California? is that Dr. Boone from ALSA? I am having my surgery with Dr.Higa from there...how was your experience there? I am so curious...I have not seen anyone else in the area who has gotten surgery from Boone or Higa...do you know of any others?

Hi sorry it took so long to respond...
My intake has been better getting close to 900 or so a day. I have been focusing on eating all the time. I have really tried to add b fast on most days which has added a lot of calories. It is not easy but it is going okay. Funny thing is I am still losing which is good for me but not what doc wanted. How are you? You had your surgery didn't you? Is it going okay
