I just wanted to say that I love that pin up poster by Les Toil. Maybe I'll have one made before I leave this big girl behind..

I'd say you're doing awesome! You're a week behind me and have lost the same amount, nothing to complain about! I know there are others that have lost like 60 lbs and they're only 2 MONTHS out... But I'm really happy with my progress, and like you haven't stalled yet. Continue to lose anywhere between 2-3 pounds per week...and I'm a happy camper!

How are you adjusting the our new way of life? Any difficulties?

    Hi Hun!!!

WOW - nice hearding from you!!

I am hoping to be at the Surrey meet in June but have to admit that with summer arriving and newfound energy levels etc I am finding it difficult to fit in all the activities that I would like to take part in - I am sure you know exactly what I am talking about

There is a Berkshire meet on Saturday - are you going to join us?

    Would love to see ya!!!

I thought you'd had the bypass - but was thinking I must be going mad! Chocolate, crisps - wow - I would have gone nuts if I could eat that so early out (still can't eat chocolate now but crisps are another story!). I don't think I would have had the discipline to stay away from all the 'bad' stuff. Are you finding you can eat high volumes of stuff? Maybe they made your pouch smaller but your intestines longer???

Hey Lis. Good to hear that you are doing ok. I'm just trying to wrack my brain - did you have the band instead of the bypass? I'm thinking so otherwise you wouldn't be able to eat the crisps/chocolate etc. Food demons are so hard to fight - it's all very well for someone to sit there and say to you stop eating them but it doesn't really help does it?

Unfortunately I couldn't make it on Saturday as I was working but will be at the next one (not sure when it is but as soon as I know I'll book that day off work).

All going well for me here - managing to pretty much maintain my weight although have picked up 3lbs over the last month or so so have to watch out for that! 3lbs is fine but I guess that can turn into 10 pretty easily! I know what's caused it - carbs - gotta cut back - I didn't have them for over a year and now suddenly I've started having them again - bad bad Shereeks!

Must be loney for you with your hubby gone off again. How long is he away for this time?

Most protein seems easy for me eat at this point. But haven't tried many carbs...toast is a definite "NO-NO" for me. A quarter size piece of toast makes me WISH I could hurl! I bought some high protein "chips" that taste really good. They're from Bariatric edge (?)...not sure I'd have to check the web-site name. What kind of carb "rubbish" are you eating? I'm down 40 lbs (did not have a pre-op diet of any kind)...so we're both doing really good! And I can NOT say that I like exercising...but I am MAKING time for it 3X a week at this point. Do you find yourself so much "weaker" than prior to surgery when exercising? I've had several bouts of "shouldn't have eaten that" episodes. They were...a quarter size piece of toast, eggs of any type (which at first my pouch LOVED), and most recently stir-fry I made at home...tasted really good...but sheesh...I was dry heaving that stuff...YIKES! Not sure if it was the veggies, the chicken being too dry (meaning not ketchup/mayo to dip in). Other than that...all is going well so far. Tell me more about your self and your journey thus far! Feel free to email, PM or post a message here. I think it's exciting to "compare notes" on what our pouchies like/dislike and how we've changed!

What kinds of foods are you finding go down well? Have you suffered much with sickness? I've found I'm completely unable to be sick since the op, which is horrid when I'm overcome with nausea and want nothing more than to get whatever has disagreed with me up. Keep in touch. Lis x

    Hello Forces!

You mentioned that we are about 10 days apart and was wondering how you are doing? I'm still "adapting" to foods...everything sounds good, not much tastes good. I find that strange coming from me! I'd eat ANYTHING prior to this surgery!

And thanks for the friend invite!
