You can also customize your profile by clicking on the drop menu labeled "Quick Links" Click on Edit Options and on the left side panel you should see an option to "Customize Profile". You do kinda have to play around and get familiar with the site but just try it and see what you can do. If you figure it out, you can upload graphics and use them as the background.
