At least with hurricanes we have pre-warning. So, if it is heading our way we can get the hell out of dodge..lol..In Aug 2002 we had Hurricane Charley come directly through our city and left barely anything standing. We were without power for 13 days. And actually the community is still rebuilding. A lot of people lost their homes and then took the insurance money and moved. Left the house just like it was. So, the city has been tearing them down. The high school is still being rebuilt. It is crazy. Not to mention home owners insurance rocketed. Honestly though I dont care for Florida too much. I would rather live up north. The only reason I am here is because my immediate family moved here. I have been trying to talk them into moving back for years..lol..
I see you are from Indiana. I was born and raised in LaPorte, In. Didnt move to Florida until I was 22. I really miss the change in seasons. Not so much the snow though...
