I do HR, and it burns me when employers don't support their employees especially in your case where you're certsainly not calling in sick to ready a trashy novel and cuddle under the covers. You are your first priority right now, love. Heal, rest, and recover. If you go in on Friday and feel tired or "off", leave. It may sound selfish, but right now it is all about you. Use your PTO - this is why you have it. A note from your doc extending your time off can be given to your employer, and if you need time beyond your PTO, you have FMLA to use. Go above your boss to HR if she continues to give you grief. Comparing you to another person is unacceptable because we are all different. Now I am ranting, but you get the picture. Be your own advocate sweetie because ain't no one gonna advocate for you the way you can...
